They both have unresolved issues, nothing would, should or could be as simple as saying, expressing and just accepting. It's not them and their relationship in past but their past in general. She didn't want to be in love she told Nida, but since when love happen by choice?
Maybe I am wrong, but I think hug was impulsive on Sanam's part,she needed one and when didn't get from person of choice(hays n Badi ammi included) she just one for herself. But length was purely for drama:)
