Honestly I think you're underestimating Rani's ability. Firstly, she's taking on a role that she's never done before. Something new, something challenging. Only time will tell if her experiment with a new role will work. And some of the biggest stars in Bollywood are all praises for Rani after seeing the trailer. Yes, people will flock to see the movie. Especially Rani fans (which btw there are still many out there). Whether the film will do well or not, only time will tell.

I'm just glad she has a new movie coming out and that she's playing a role that she hasn't done before. Whether it works or not, she certainly is showcasing her versatility as an actress.

As for people not coming, let me clarify, the sad bitter truth was not ranis popularity or bo power, rather the content. Its a sad and bitter truth portrayed with brutality here. As far as I can see on the trailer. So I doubt people would come to watch it and get a slap of reality. Usually we try ostrich behaviour with all such social issues. Lakshmi, which released sometime back, was like this and I doubt many people came to watch it.

If people watch it and movie becomes hit and the topic is discussed then kudos to the team.
