I got this little comparision on my mind of DB vs Ds.
From what is shown, both DB and DS are traditionalist. And up until JaAn break-up DS believed in traditional customs and treated her beendnis no less than a herd of cattle. Not only that, but she was too rigid to change her ways or to open up her mind. She completely believed in things like virgin bride, women should be under men, beendnis should limit themselves to household work etc. which made the life of her family members pitiable and miserable.
DB is also of a similar nature from the way she is trying to control Shekhar household. She believes in bossism, controlling others, imposing decisions, and does not want to change with changing times. She wants to practice regressive life-style blindly and make others to follow it too. Her dislike for Anandi - Amol also mainly arises from "Divorcee-adopted" thought process, more than anything else i.e. a non-virgin bride and paraya khoon.
So if I compare, yesteryear's DS and DB, I am wondering why is it that DB was left alone by her own son, while Bhairon never dared to leave his cruel mother ever? Or how is it that DSa maintained so much control over all her family members that they felt suffocation to the core but didn't leave her. While on the other hand DB was eventually cut-ties for her regressive thinking.
Both DB and DSa didn't have husbands, and both raised their own sons in their own ways. So why one son tolerated all, while another one decided to leave his mother all by herself?
This is just a thought on why some regressive minds can control the family forever, while some get told off by the younger generation?
p.s. I do know that Bhairon was ready to leave home for Anandi's sake, when Dsa got J married to Gudiya, but minus that event BS has only mostly expressed grief, not done much to control his mother or change her mentality. Even badi masi failed to do that. And similarly even Daddu is failing to control Subhadra.
