if u remember, shilpa shetty went for a show in England, called "big brother"... there she was referred to as "paki" by her fellow British contestant once, and a mess was created, and she isnt Pakistani! it was stated in an offensive manner and everyone there in specific knows that it is a bit offensive! just like stating "nigger" in front of an African American... they will not like it.... unless their ur close friend or something, otehrwise its an offensive term for them!

in other words... i would say, that if u say "paki" in front of ur own pakistani friends, its okay... but its better not to mention it in front of anyone else..... as if it gets said by many ppl, it can be used in negative ways on purpose just to offend others!

Therefore, I don't see why we need to use this term when its not too hard to say the full word. Shrtening names does'nt make anybody cool. If a word is considered an ethnic slur in one or two countries we should condemn it regrdless of where we live. Because if we start acepting its use those who have ill intentions just get another excuse to use it.

yepp, definetely..😳 it's meant to offend the person! (but is just shows how ignorant goreh are when they use it for actual pakistani's..lol)

The word "Paki" simply means paak (as in clean, pure from the impurities)... And i must stress it does not mean Pig!! IT simply means purity from the impurities.. when an individual is a paki.. like myself we are called paki in the u.k in an offensive manner by the english cultured people... they use it in a negative way to try to offend us they feel better within themselves once they call us "paki" thinking it is a kind of swear and when some of react to it in a way that we show we are offended the engligh feel satisfied that they have offended us... However, when the term "Paki" simply means to be "Paak" of the impurities, it means that the english are telling us that we are pure and clean... Therefore, to be honest instead of showing harsh reaction to the english culture we should change our attitude towards the term and instead of becoming frustrated we should politely thank the engligh culture for realising the fact that we are indeed "Paak" (purified and cleaned from our impurities)... Many of us "Paki's" are muslim and we pray and perform Wudhu five times a day so what is this doing to us ?! .... It is indeed making us pure and clean from our impurites therefore we are indeed "Paki's"....

Please muslim brothers and sister, i am not trying to offend anyone in the IF forum, it is open to free opinions but lets just try to change our own self-conceptions and view reagarding the term "Paki" and when someone calls you "Paki" next time see how much better you will feel knowing that you are indeed a "PAKI"....because you are indeed clean, pure, "PAAK" from ur impurities..... whatever term you use to refer to it as 😳

Lets turn around and change the false consept developed in the english culture regarding the word "PAKI"... lets turn around and thank them for calling us a "PAKI" .... and make sure you make them aware straight after u have thanked them that the term "Paki" that they use against you in an offensive manner, to their suprise, infact means "cleanliness, purity".... and stress this to them and you will see their concepts begin to change slowly and we shall all eventually become satisfied within our multi-cultural society 😳
