Following up to my other topic "Stars That Shocked You By NOT Making it Big" I decided to make this one.

Please list all the actors/actresses who shocked you by getting popular/successful

Ranveer...I loved him in bbb but I never thought he would even come close to ranbir as far as acting skills/screen presence etc goes...because ranveer was a bit unconventional looking and had a pretty "out there" personality...I thought he was too honest for bw and tht people would reject him after that...

Then when he pulled off RL and Lootera in the same year, I knew he was here to stay...so happy for him...

Katrina - She had a rough start and I thought she was done in BW after she went to South.

Ranbir - BAH was the first movie I saw of him and didn't like it. Thought he'd fizzle out soon as Saawariya was a disaster as well. After WUS, I knew he was here to stay.

When I first saw the trailer of BBB I thought he was the most ugliest but what I liked about him was his honesty and just his whole personality. He's a rare guy.

Most of the time you can tell who will make it big..it's usually the good looking ones who can act. And who isn't boring onscreen. And the ones who are part of good/hit films. Also the hype surrounding their personal life and the number of fans they have..these things predict who will make it big.

But from recent time I have to say Deepika. She didn't really shock me but it was a suprise she made it big. She's beautiful. But she never really made an impact after OSO. I recall when this forum use to call her wooden plank or something like that...along with Sonam and Katrina. And in terms of popularity she was no where close to Kat, Bebo and PC. And look at where she is today..both in terms of popularity and acting. She def came out of nowhere and impressed everyone with her performance in Cocktail and then CE and YJHD.

I guess Vidya too..because she's not your typical Bollywood actress..but she made it big with her heroine oriented roles and good script sense.

Deepika- With 5 duds in a row, she was lost. Though I liked her in OSO, I didn't think she had a chance reviving her career. Then came Cocktail, YJHD,CE,RL in a row and I was damned.

Ranveer Singh- I remember when BBB's trailer came out, everyone was calling the guy ugly and too weird to be a hero and look at him now 😆

Katrina- She isn't that beautiful, can't act for shit, couldn't speak the language, and is an outsider. She is the reason every aspiring actor should've faith.
