As Raman pointedly insulted them ...Shagun and Ashok always show up at events just to be insulted. If Shagun shows up it adds mirchi to the mix and gives Raman another chance to prove his present with Ishita is worth more than his past with Shagun. But why isn't Raman indifferent to Shagun, why does he feel the need to prove anything to her at all after all these years?

Shagun's delusional to believe Raman is still head over heels in love with her since she was the one to walk out on their marriage.
