This has been nagging at me for the past few days. but I waited to wait till the week finished before commenting. My question is, was the dress instance not mentioned in the article? Since I have no idea what was written in the headline or in the article. I'm assuming the dress was mentioned because the narrator says that Neha wrote Yamini insulted and thought low of the orphanage kids (or something like that, don't remember exactly), hence didn't wear the dress to be auctioned.
So if what happened regarding Yamini not wearing the dress was printed in the newspaper article by Neha, wouldn't and shouldn't Nikumbh piece it together?
It seems like he hasn't realized it because of the way he speaks to her about her losing the show, especially the day after the cultural show when Yamini congratulated him. He was insistent that she not casually mention it as if she was simply not able to do it, but that she that she had lost the slot.
I know he keeps saying she fell into her own trap and uses such proverbs. But still, it seems off. He was really angry at her taking over his slot, yes; but he doesn't seem to be type to gloat in that manner after knowing it's the result of his ruining the dress.
Which leads me to the question, how could he not realize that and put two and two together?
Or did he not read the newspaper article fully? Which seems to be the only explanation, but even then that doesn't seem so likely either.
Or does the article not actually mention specifically about the dress incident? 😕
