There are similar discussions every year but with no changes ...
I don't think anything can change now... the season has already started and most probably the whole season has already been planned... including the challenges for the upcoming episodes...
...BBC being the producer may have some objections as well about the classical forms, not sure about it though, but that can be a possibility...
the choreographers also need to be comfortable with both western and indian in order to
compose a semiclassical/fusion/mix ... not sure if they are...
So I guess we just have to be happy with whatever they have planned

As a dance enthusiast , signed up to see jdj first time, very disappointed with this trend that sex sells so everything goes. Live abroad and interact with a lot of western styles dance and never heard this nonsense about popular new dance style called ...k...whatever...maybe popular at places these guys visit... Its so clearly misguided and misrepresented by these choreographers. Its supposed to be a family show... At least people should object ...this is not dance

Thats by far the STUPIDEST thing ive heard

Ok now back to your question
I love both Western & Indian dance a blend of both is perfect
Western classical like Shaktis ballet etc is so pleasing to the eyes...
Also I like Samba,Jive & Tap dance too

But I love meaning LOVE Indian Classical
Bharathanatiyam Kathak Kathakali Oddisi-they are sooo beautiful
I hope there is atleast one episode dedicated to classical/semi classical

Also I would love to see folk style dances too
Asaameese Bihu,Garba,Bhangra-there are so many local dance forms we don't even know of
I hope the Choreographerers display these forms of dance too
