Chapter 1 - The Challenge

It was Kalpana's first day in office, but she was not at all happy or excited about it.

Firstly, she got this job as a favour to her aai, and KalpanaVitthalJadav doesn't like to take favours, and taking a favour from that man was exactly the thing she decided never to do.

Her second reason was "that man" himself - Raghav Singhaniya, who would now be her boss. The man she had hated from their very first interaction. He had always insulted her and made fun of her poverty, and Kalpana being a girl with high self-esteem could not take it. It had indeed been a shock to her that he was Raghav Singhaniya, whom she used to respect a lot.She couldn't believe that he was the same person whom she knew in childhood. He had changed drastically during the years he was away, and now she couldn't find any reason that had made her think so highly of him. After all, he's also just an arrogant and rude rich brat.

But her circumstances gave her no choice but to accept this job. With her supposed failure in her university exams, no matter what the reality was, she was nothing more than a graduation fail. This truth would prevent her from getting a respectable job anywhere else, and if she doesn't get a job, her aaji will marry her off. Her aai's dreams will remain unfulfilled. So she accepted the job though against her will.

On the other hand, it is also the first day in the office for another girl. Pakhi Kapoor, unlike Kalpi, was quite excited about it. Not at all because of anything related to the job, the reason is none other than her boss - Raghav Singhaniya. The man she'd been drooling over from the day she set eyes on him. She kept running after him all the time, not caring even when he plainly ignored her everytime. The difference between Pakhi and Kalpi can be clearly seen.

This day was special for another person too, who is none other than the oh-so-famous Raghav Singhaniya. Why?Because she will be joining his office today...

Wondering who "she" is?Maybe not. Because it's obviously Kalpi.

No, he doesn't yet love her, but doesn't stop him from caring about her on the pretext that "she's Kamla ma's daughter", does it? For some reason unknown to even him, he was feeling excited to see her again. He couldn't understand why he was feeling like this, as he didn't want to, but feelings were something beyond his control... he couldn't help but feel attracted towards her...

The day went as Kalpi had expected it to. Raghav kept insulting her from start, showed his arrogance about everything, but that was not the worst. The worst was that Kalpi was given the post of assistant of Pakhi. Working under Pakhi was something Kalpi could never bear...

The day had not been uneventful. Raghav was talking to someone when a chandelier got loose and was about to fall on him, but Kalpi saved him in the nick of time. Raghav being Mr. KhadoosSinghaniya of course could not leave his ego and thank her, as expected.

After being repeatedly insulted by Raghav, Kalpi couldn't take it anymore. She openly challenged him

"I will prove my capability in 30 days and you will have to promote me."

She typed out a promotion letter and gave it to him, declaring that he'll sign it and give it to her within 30 days. She stormed off, leaving Raghav smiling, impressed by her confidence and attitude.

Raghav's confusion about his feelings increased even more, because throughout the day he caught himself admiring Kalpi numerous times - whether about her beauty, or her attitude, he couldn't help but be impressed by her. The moment he saw her today, he forgot everything and only one thought came to his head - how stunning she was looking...

He caught himself in time, otherwise if anyone would have found him staring at Kalpi like that... he couldn't think of any excuse to give...

Kalpi returned home getting drenched in the rain. Raghav had passed her, but of course, Khadooswouldn't care enough to even notice that there was any problem. At home, Kamla asked Kalpi about office. She couldn't sadden her aai by telling her the truth, so she lied and made up a false story as to how well Raghav treated her...ButKamla came to know of the reality from Pakhi... She understood that Kalpi was lying so that she doesn't become unhappy, and indirectly boosted her morale.

The next day went almost the same way. The only difference was that Prem called Kalpi that day...

Prem had got to know from Pakhi that Kalpi was unhappy with her job, so decided to use it to his advantage. He wanted Kalpi to work as his spy and provide him information about the presentation for an upcoming meeting. He conveyed the same to Kalpi, who agreed to meet him. Meanwhile, Sammy had heard Kalpi's one-sided conversation and become suspicious.

Kalpi went to meet Prem but only to refuse his offer and insult him as well. Prem returned home disappointed, but later the trio (Neetu, Sahil and Prem) stole the presentation from Pakhi's room.
