A few weeks later

The next day, I walk into practice completely unprepared for the sight in front of me. I turn around and walk out, hoping that they hadn't noticed that I was in the room just a few seconds ago.

Without realising, I had accidentally walked in on Raghu and Rukhsana and lets just say that the sight wasn't a pleasant one. Well, not for me at least.

I sit down on the bench outside the studio and close my eyes, remembering my steps for the dance. "Antara!" I stand up upon hearing that voice. It turns out to be Mach Mach. "Shouldn't you be with Bhai, practicing?" he asks. "I think your Bhai is a little busy today. I was just about to leave," I say, picking up my bag. "Really? Bhai never told me anything like that. Are you sure he's busy?" "Yes. I'm sure. I should get going." I'm pretty sure I left him there confused but honestly, there wasn't too much I could do to make the situation better anyways.

I sit down on my bed, pulling out one of my favourite books when my phone beeped.

R: Hey. Where were you today? All okay?

I pause, thinking about how I should reply.

A: I came but I guess you were a little busy.

R: Oh that... I'm sorry, I didn't know that you would be kinda early this time.

A: I didn't think so either. We're still practising tomorrow, right?

I read her message.

A: I came but I guess you were a little busy.

Sh*t... I didn't think that she would come early today of all days. But it's not like Rukhsana and I were doing anything that explicit. Or at least in my opinion we weren't.

Dude, you probably made her feel so uncomfortable. You should probably apologise.

R: Oh that... I'm sorry, I didn't know that you would be kinda early this time.

A: I didn't think so either. We're still practising tomorrow, right?

R: Yes of course. Hey, if you wouldn't mind, could you help me with that research assignment we got?

The truth was, I didn't know why, but I just really wanted to spend time with her. And I really could use help for that assignment.

A: Sure. When?

R: Right now? Skype?

A: Okay.

So what if she wasn't actually next to me? At least I would still get to spend some time with her.

For some reason I felt excited and nervous about this. I quickly get up and check my reflection in the mirror, just in case.

I quickly jumped off of my bed, fixing my shirt and hair. Hey, I had to at least try to look decent.

I grabbed my laptop and waiting for Skype to load. I looked towards Maya's bed, glad that she had decided to go home for the weekend.

The sound of the incoming call brought my attention back to my laptop and I found Raghu's name popping up on my screen. I accepted the call.
