Had some free time so I can write my long review. Bear with me, it's quite long.
5/30 episode was brilliant in terms of execution, in terms of performances and in terms of almost everything.
I will write more about the actors at the bottom.
Scenes I loved: ( this pretty much sums up every scene )
1. The first part where Zain sees the corpse and realizes it's not his wife. At first glance, he's happy but at the same time he's afraid. The look on his face was priceless. It was simply bang on. and the tears that flowed in the realization htat it's not his wife was BRILLIANT. There was pain and there was happiness and BI sad version enhanced the entire scene. That's why I like their own show's music rather than bollywood songs.
2. Zain calls out Aliya and I was a happy camper to see that. Her proper name has been used finally, there is chaos around, and BI fast track music plays and yeh ishq hai plays.. It's a brilliant scene. The direction, the music and chaos all around fitted so brilliantly into the scene. It made the whole scene so beautiful.
3. Zain finds Aliya. I don't think there could have been a better scene than this. With the prayers playing in the background, there is chaos everywhere and the pain on his face was beautiful. I loved how the tempo opens as soon as she hears her name like a thousand metalic guitars art once. He gets up and there is hope. Nothing but hope. The way her face is shown, and there is happiness all around. Props for the background music to be played at the right time, as it just enhanced the scene. As she opens the tempo and sees his face, there is utter happiness on her face. She wasn't expecting him and he's there. It closed all the closure of the hate track. At one point, he could care less what happens to her and now they have become each other's word. She slow runs ( for once I didn't mind the slow running ) and runs right into his arms, which was such a beautiful scene. The only thing I didn't like was the song. * head desk. I really wished they played BI title track on this scene, because it would have been made everything so brilliant and so more meaningful but I will over look that because the entire scene was beautiful.
4. Zain and Aliya confession: BEAUTIFUL. This is one of the most beautiful confession scenes ever. It was so real. Zain tells Aliya , I love you and without a blink , Aliya tells him that she loves him too. It takes them time for them to feel the words, and I loved how they both do identical gestures and re confess their love for each other. It was JUST beautiful. Words cannot describe this scene and I love how he twirls her around. This confession is so beautiful because it felt so real. In a normal situation, this is what would happen.
5. ZaYa and their kitkit. It was really good scene. I loved how they continued to maintain their characters despite the confession. They didn't become mushy , they became more real. I loved how they apolgized to each other and the scene was just beautiful. I am glad Zain tells Aliya he told her so many times and that was just a proper closure. Her happiness had no bounds when she realized that all those i love you's were for her. The scene had tears, happiness and pure unconditional love for each other. Their apology scene was really adorable. Like I said, it was real. and I love that. i love their cute promises, it's too cute. and I love how they set up their kitkit time. It's too cute.
6. Besharm Zain returns - FULL ROMANCE. They arrive at home in the morning , and they are in full romance mode. I love how Zain said one line, that they lost themselves and found each other. It was a beautiful line and just added to their romance even more. Damn, BI has some amazing lines in the show and this was def one of them. Besharm Zain wants to take Aliya inside the room and spend some time, but everytime someone interrupts. It was adorable to see Zain getting frustrated with Aliya's cousins everytime he romances.
7. Good Morning princess - This scene was intense man. I love how the love track is intense and not mushy. I still don't like the song. It just doesn't fit. but I am over looking that part. WOW, can these two romance or what? I felt like this was a dream, and what a beautiful dream that turned into reality it was. Zain kisses Aliya on the forehead and on her cheeks but when it comes to the main thing, he gets interrupted so many times. It was a very cute and funny scene at the same time. This scene was just beautiful and cannot possible wait to see more. The Kheer scene was cute too. and ZaYa finally go back home and the bhopal journey ends. Maybe they need to go to Bhopal often but it was a perfect closure to the hate track. Bhopal is where they begun to hate each other and Bhopal is where they declared their love for each other. It was a great end to the hate track.
Now onto the performances:
Preetika Rao - What a performance! She was a great performer today. From the moment, she sees zain, there were tears, there was love and there was happiness. In that moment, she was brilliant, then came the confession and she was again brilliant. I love how free she became when it came to the romantic scenes. She has really came a long way from the beginning of the series, where you could see she was really uncomfortable at romantic scenes to now, where she's performing superbly. She was really superb in the episode.
Now onto the star performer...
I was reading an interview of Farhan on TC where he said, Harshad has become more confident and indeed he has and that reflects in his performances. I need to go back and re watch the nikhaah episodes, the hate track to truly evaulate his performance tonight and boy has he come a long way! I rememember watching the nikhaah episodes and thinking, he's already so confident, how long will it be before he delivers one of his finest performances? Not that long I guess, because he was BRILLIANT in today's episode. No words can express how brilliant he was! From the start of the episode, the way he saw the corpse, his expressions changing and revealing all those Zain's layers were brilliant. I have always been intrigued by his characters and the way the character's layers fell , was so good. From a boy who would do pranks to annoy his cousin off, to a boy who was forced into marriage to becoming a man , who loves his wife. The same marriage he was forced into has become his entire world today. This was truly a beautiful journey of of Zain Abdulllah, the boy who became a man.
I think a brilliant performer happens when the actor becomes the character. When he acts and you can feel his pain, he cries and you automatically start crying too, that's the birth of a brilliant performer and that's what Harshad has become.
He ended up delivering one of his finest performances till date and as a fan, I am so proud of him. I cannot seriously wait to see more of his performances!
