Exclusive: Shahrukh Khan, Priyanka Chopra, Kareena Kapoor to skip Karan Johar's birthday party?
KJo's birthday parties have always been star studded, but this year the story is different
Everyone is waiting for May 25 when Karan Johar will host his big birthday bash. Every year this date is marked on everyone's calendar as this is the day when loyalties are tested and Bollywood camps take sides. This year however is a different story. Buzz is that KJo who turns 42 this year will have a relatively low-key affair and spend the night with the young guns - Alia Bhatt, Sidharth Malhotra, Aditya Roy Kapur and Varun Dhawan.
While the invites are yet to go out, a source reveals that the one person whose presence or absence will make the headlines is none other than Shahrukh Khan. SRK, who's been celebrating his IPL team's victories hasn't yet made up his mind if he will go for this bash. An insider reveals, "If Shahrukh goes, it will stop all the whispering about him having a huge fallout with Karan. However, if he skips the bash then it might be the year's biggest story that will confirm the fallout between these former friends."
Also absent from the guest list will be Kangana Ranaut. Many of you might know this, but KJo skipped her birthday as the Fashion actor gave him a tough time on sets of Ungli, which, we hear has been shelved. However, recently the Kuch Kuch Hota Hai director was seen promoting Kangy's blockbuster film, Queen, which made us wonder if the two have gone back to being good friends. But since Ms Ranaut is not attending the filmmaker's 42nd birthday bash, wethinks something is still indeed not right between them.
Kajol, who once used to share a close bond with her My Name Is Khan director also won't be present at the party, we are told. After all, their dosti is not the same after the whole Ajay Devgn-SRK controversy. Even Kareena Kapoor has chosen to stay away after the entire Shuddhicontroversy and the failure of Gori Tere Pyaar Mein (GTPM). Dharma Productions' once blue-eyed boy Imran Khan is also not on the guest list, after his major showdown with the filmmakerpost the debacle of GTPM. And lastly, KJo's close buddies Priyanka Chopra and Ranveer Singh also won't be at the party as they are on a cruise busy shooting for Zoya Akhtar's Dil Dhadakne Do.
Well, with such heavy weights absent from the list, we wonder if KJo' start studded bash will glimmer and glitter like its previous years
