Part 1
Her eyes hurt. The salty water mingled in her sore eyes, making her stifle back a sob. She stood there, her heavy blood red bridal lehenga almost crushing her with it's weight. She tried to adjust her blurry vision and look ahead. She looked at the opened door, her new home.
A warm hand slipped in her hand.
She looked to her left, a warm smile trying to comfort her. He, clad in a beige sherwani, looked at her, trying to assure her. She gave a small smile in return, the smile costing her the earth.
"Khushi, you wait here, ok?" his hoarse manly voice asked her.
Confused at his request, but still Khushi managed to nod at him and saw her husband of only few hours, leave her side and enter the apartment.
Khushi saw him come back with a plate in his hand, which looked like an aarti thaal. Khushi looked at him, her eyes misting at his sweet gesture.
He came and stood in front of her.
"Khushi, I am really sorry. But you know I don't have any family, so all this..."
"Its ok. I understand." Her soft voice tried to comfort him.
He smiled at her. Putting the tilak on her forehead, he did the aarti. Then taking the kalash, he kept it before her. Keeping the thaal away, he again joined her.
Slipping his hand again in her soft hand, he looked at her.
"Shall we, Khushi?" he asked softly.
Khushi nodded her head and pushed the kalash with her right foot, marking the new beginning of her life. And vowing to forget her past, to never allow her past to overshadow her present and future.
She entered her new house with her husband. It was an apartment, a par hall, but beautifully decorated and maintained, which consist of a few sofas , a big LCD plastered against the wall, a big window providing a view of the city.
He took her to the bedroom. The bedroom had a big bed in the middle and an attached washroom, a dressing table to the right and a cupboard.
"Khushi, you must me hungry, right? You wait here, I will bring something for you" he said and was about to go out when his wife's soft voice stopped him.
"No...I...I am not hungry..." Khushi stammered, too shy to say otherwise.
He smiled at her downcast head.
"But Khushi, I thought as I am married now, I no longer need to have my meals alone. But I think, I will have to, as I am really hungry.."
Khushi's heart filled with affection for the man in front of her. Wiping the tear that had just rolled down her cheek, she shook her head.
"No need for that. I will eat with you..." Khushi replied.
He smiled at her and exited the room.
He may not know her too well, but few hours of acquaintance with her, had given him more than she could comprehend.
As he was about to enter the kitchen, he heard the door bell ring. He walked towards the door.
"Yes, how can I help you?" He asked to the man standing in front of him.
The man stood there, clad in a black three piece suit and drenched from head to toe. He lifted his head to look at the man, who stood in front of him. His palms fisted in a ball, his eyes burning with fury.
"Khushi...I want to meet Khushi.." the man replied, his voice cold.
"Oh...you are looking for Khushi. Come in, I will call her" replying, he kept the door open for the stranger who was looking for his wife and went inside to call his wife.
"Khushi?"
"Ji?" Khushi stood up from the bed.
"Someone is looking for you.." he said and looked at his wife's confused face.
"Looking for me? But who?"
"Come and look yourself, khushi.." He smiled at her and extended his hand for her.
Khushi looked at the extended hand for few seconds before sliding her hand in his.
"There.." He pointed at the man, who stood near the dining table, his back facing them.
Khushi moved her head towards the said direction, and before that man could turn to show his face, she knew who he was.
The hold on her husband's hand tightened immediately, her heart took a pace, but today it had nothing to do with the butterfly and the acidity. Today it was gripped with fear, ...fear of the man standing in front of her.
"Ar..na...v..ji.."

Don't be surprised, Yes, it's me, Shivi. The thing is that this story was playing in my head and wasnt allowing me to breath in relief, yes, thats what happens to me when something struck to my mind😆 And as my exam got postponed due to the election fair going on, I thought of penning it down and relieving myself 😊 . So here it is and I know you all will be confused, if you are than I am successful 😆 . But do let me know how it is and I will update second part tomorrow with ILMANY update and a VERY important note regarding this story will be updated tomorrow too. I don't know how my this story will be received by you all thus I am not giving the note here, I will be giving it tomorrow.
