It isnt the star kids that I have a problem with... but just the fact that there seems to be no proper casting process in place for the outsiders to try their luck... and to scout talent from tv and theatre.

There need to be more people like Mukesh Chhabra .. and even he can get these outsiders only supporting roles in multistarrer "off-beat" or "realistic" films , (whose producers rarely promote or project their actors as "potential stars to watch out for in the future") and not lead roles in "dream debut" films... Those are always reserved for star kids..

And can someone tell me how Shanoo does the casting for YRF films? ... All the people she has cast (and who have made a mark) are those whom she has discovered from the modelling world , or who is connected to a film family, or who works at YRF...

Ranveer-Arjun's KWK episode was an eye opener. Pretty much everyone who has got a decent break was known to her earlier-friends or relatives of friends. She probably picks who she thinks is the best of the lot from the people she personally knows or has seen in parties etc.
