Feeling quite sorry for Rudra, knowing the anguish that awaits him. But that is the pain that awaits every man/woman in love - the pain of laying yourself open to rejection. So I suppose it goes with the territory, yes it's more extreme in Rudra's case. But it's not a choice anymore, if you feel it you'll realise it at some point of time - it's all a matter of time.

I hope Laila's entry does everything you say. And that when the time comes for Paro to leave him that the Lord Himself is kind (to them and us 😆) and either prevents the separation or makes it a brief one.
