Was Aadesh blowing his own trumpet?
DILLI KA TADKA:
While judging a musical talent hunt for Amul Star Voice of India in the city, Alka Yagnik got a tad hassled. Every time the crowd went overboard cheering or teasing the singers, it was the singer, dressed in a beautiful black and red salwar kameez, who got up to give them a piece of her mind – "Aap khud ga ke dekhiye, tab pata chalega." And that was not all, she then turned to the organisers, "Arre, in badmashon ko kuch boliye." Music director Lalit Pandit and Alka also had a little tiff, as he cracked a joke, which Alka didn't take very kindly to.
ORIGINALITY SPEAKS: Aadesh Srivastava was particularly impressed with one of the singers, who sang a lesser-known Kunal Ganjawalla number. "I am glad you did not copy Kunal's style. Always be original, like me," he said. Were you praising yourself or was it in jest, Aadesh?
BAND IT LIKE ABHIJEET: Singer Shaan spotted that most of the youngsters in Delhi were sporting hair bands. "Is it Delhi's style statement? I see a lot of young boys wearing them," he said. Singer Abhijeet's reply to Shaan's question was a, "Yaar, mujhe bhi dilwa do ek hair band, I love them!"
BENGAL
KA SHAAN
Shaan knows Hindi well but he made a little slip. When he was inviting one of the participants on stage, he said, "Welcome this hatta-khatta singer to stage." He doubled with laughter on being corrected, "Khatta nahi hatta-katta hai." (Contributed by Jaya Drona & Priyanka Srivastava)
