Meet the new YRF Boss: Mrs. Rani Chopra

The industry was pleasantly surprised when a mail from Yash Raj Films was sent out about Aditya Chopra and Rani Mukerji's nuptials.

The official spokesperson of one of the oldest film studios in Bollywood confirmed that Aditya and Rani were now man and wife.

The duo decided to tie the knot in the picturesque European country of Italy, away from the prying eyes of the media. While there are a lot of theories floating around that suggest they were already married and have just chosen to issue an official statement now, but we can definitely say that Rani is now the face of YRF. An industry insider reveals the change in the equation." Everyone in the industry knows that Rani was unofficially the face of the film studio. She was always at the forefront for all events and represented the family. Even when Yash Chopra passed away, Rani was the one who stepped out to receive condolences from the media as the camera shy Aditya Chopra refused to be seen in public. She was also specially invited to celebrate Aditya and Uday's mother Pamela Chopra's birthday in July at Switzerland last year. She is also a permanent fixture at all the Chopra parties and celebrations and was also spotted celebrating Diwali with the family last year.

Aditya and his media- shy ways are known to all so obviously after the wedding, Rani will be the one to be the official face of the studio. Though she has been involved closely with most of the operations, now she will have a separate space in the YRF office and she will take active interest in all the projects. Whether or not acting takes a backseat, only time will tell but henceforth, Rani will be the go- to person and the one representing the studio across all platforms," says the insider.

Even though Uday Chopra has been associated with YRF right from the beginning, he recently expressed that he was shifting base to Hollywood to expand the international division of YRF. He had also announced his decision to stop acting and is currently involved in the nitty- gritties of the international division. His mother Pamela has always been shy of being in the limelight. So the only person that is left to take the reins in her hands is Mrs Aditya Chopra. Though Aditya will still continue to be the head honcho taking all the creative decisions, Rani will completely support her husband in being the public figure of the film studio.

Once the family is back from Italy, the two will take off for a short honeymoon after which, Rani will dive headlong into work, first for her next film Mardaani, followed by taking charge of all that entails, mainly her duties as YRF chief.
