Hello Everyone..Its me Debarati again..😊..

Okay so I got a lot recommendations for Good dramas on Pakistani tv channels in my previous thread..And I went through a few threads in this forum as well..where I read a lot of praises about many other actors apart from Fawad Khan..

Just finished watching Meri Zaat Zarra-E -Benishan..which was almost a unanimous recommendation for me from many members here.So Thank You everyone🤗.I absolutely loved the show..the storyline was quite similar to Humsafar..just that the conclusion was very painful in this case..and the message was very strong. .The only drawback that I found here was the lead actor..Faisal Qureshi..I found him extremely monotonous.and could not empathize or sympatize or relate with his character at all..he looked so hopeless and bechara types..like a spineless guy..Now I dont know whether the character should have been like that or not..But somehow my mind formed the opinion about him by the end that whatever was shown was justified..And a guy like Arfeen did not deserve a girl like Saba..His performance did not leave much of an impact on me and looked weak.. In comparision I was fascinated with Samiya Mumtaz' performance..

Where as in almost the same scenario..Fawad made me Love him, Hate him and Love him Again though the entire journey of Humsafar..So many shades..so convincing..so relatable and so Impactful..I read a post here where many said that Faisal Qureshi is a better actor..Well to be really honest..I for one did not feel like it..And I am being absolutely unbiased here..as I did not know anything about how good or bad these actors are about a month back..

So this post is for a healthy discussion..about what do you guys think.Who is the Better Actor.?.Agree or Disagree with me..But please do share your thoughts..and Yes if someone thinks of anyone else being a better actor..Please share that too..Would love to read and watch their shows ..as I am still relatively new to this..😊

Oh well i was Happy with Arfeens character, having read the novel before watching the show. and Faisla Qureshi is a diverse actor, he has done so many different roles and that too with marked excellency that i would never rate him as a poor actor. i really consider him one of the best. do go for his other projects. i am sure you will change your perception after watching more of him.

Faisal Qureshi a drawback in MZZB? wow, that's a first.

I love both Faisal Q and Fawad, they're great in their own right. However, Fawad is not in the same league as Faisal. Faisal Qureshi is in a league of his own. This guy has proven his versatility like no other meanwhile Fawad truthfully has been stuck within the whole loverboy image with his roles in Dastaan/ZGH/Humsafar.

Personally, I loved Faisal Qureshi as Arfeen. I don't think there's anyone who could've pulled that character off better than him. I'm not too sure how not being able to relate to Arfeen's character has much to do with Faisal's portrayal of it? I don't think any of us really could relate to Arfeen's character because what he did to Saba could not be justified at all which made it hard for anyone to sympathize with him as opposed to sympathizing with Saba..however, that does not take away from the fact that Faisal was exceptional in MZZB. Of course, you think otherwise..but it's fair to agree to disagree.

Apart from that, if you want to further watch Faisal's work, then I'd suggest Qaid e Tanhai, Roag, Harjaee, Wujood e Laraib and even Main Abdul Qadir Hoon. Main Abdul Qadir Hoon has Fahad Mustafa as the lead and he's absolutely brilliant.

I would highly recommend watching Fahad Mustafa's work.

I would also recommend watching - Daam, Malaal, Doraha, Pani Jaisa Pyar, Maat, Durre Shahwar, and Mera Naseeb. You'll come across great performances in all of these shows.

I agree..this is the only show that have watched of Faisal Qureshi till now..So may be he has done well in other shows..I am not saying he is a poor actor..But trust me..I was watching the show on youtube where you have this 4 hour long videos with about 10 episode merged together..many a times I had a difficulty in deciding whether its the same scene getting repeated with Arfeen or its a new scene..Same expressions.. Boring..There was no high point of the character..Same stuff throughout..

Well I felt he didnt do much except for crying in the show seriously..😆 ..And I feel I can only relate to a character or understand his point of view or like him/her..if the actor has portrayed it to the T.Does not mean he has to be the hero...For example Samina Peerzada as the negative lead was tremendous and I loved her portrayal.Made me hate her.So impactful..She was what I call exceptional..Faisal on the other hand was bland for me..He was like.."Hai to hai..Nhi bhi hota to No Big Deal"😆..May be I should watch more shows of his to decide..But basis this one..I would not say he is a great actor..And about the fact that Fawad has only played loverboy roles..well I think Its because it suits him well... I have not found him boring yet..and I am not too sure Faisal Qureshi would look as good as he does in such roles..

Thank you for the recommendations about the other actors and shows..I will certainly watch..😊 them..

Deb - I'd urge you to give Fahad Mustafa's dramas a go and see how you find them. Start off with the most recent being 'Kankar' and see how it goes. Watch it for the acting of the two lead pairs Sanam Baloch & Fahad Mustafa. Two terrific performances while Baloch had the drama hinged around her but Fahad was just incredible essaying such a complex character, the actor of deep expressions as they say.

Humsafar was an out and out mills and boons type love story. Asher was a lousy husband, but the director and writer set everything up so that girls swoon over his broody exterior. If girls didn't fall in love with Asher the drama wouldn't have made an impact, so they pulled out all the stops to make this emotionally abusive and socially stuck up character 'relatable'.

Asher and Khirad are like the Pakistani version of Chuck/Blair (I haven't watched that show but read a lot about the destructive relationship), or Bella/Edward. I really don't rate them at all.

So I think you related to Asher because he was meant to be relatable, it was a romance drama and if you didn't relate to him the drama wouldn't have done as well as it did. It's got nothing to do with Fawad being an excellent actor. He is a good actor, but is nowhere near one of the best. Fahad Mustafa, Adnan Siddiqui, Faisal Qureshi, Hamza Ali Abbasi, Noman Ijaz (who is probably the best actor in Pakistan) Sami Khan, etc. are all better actors.

Fawad has potential to become an excellent actor but he picks really easy roles, I think his best drama was Zindagi Gulzar Hai (and even that dragged on), but the role he had in it was easy.

Regarding Afreen, you weren't supposed to relate to him the way you related to Asher. MZZBN is not a love story it's a social drama, your supposed to identify and understand the flaws in the characters, and empathise with their situation, relating to them wouldn't be a good thing because the whole point of the drama was that relationships like Afreen and Saba's are bad and should be eradicated from our society.

Afreen was an idiot, he was spoilt and only knew how to throw tantrums and get what he wanted, he had no clue about how you sustain and nurture healthy relationships. He messed up with both his wives. He only regretted what happened to Saba when he found out the truth, otherwise he was stuck on justifying what happened. You shouldn't be able to relate to someone like that.

Having said that I really did empathise with Afreen towards the end, he changed for the better, and Faisal Q really made you believe that Afreen is suffering on a daily basis in regret for the way he treated Saba. I think he did become relatable towards the end in the sense that, we all sin and want forgiveness and deserve forgiveness so we can become better people. He tried to make up for what he did by taking in Saba's daughter and giving her more love than he gave his own son.

Afreen was an extremely complex character and Faisal Q did justice to the role. I genuinely don't think Fawad was better in Humfsafar. Faisal in MZZBN was miles ahead.
