Today's episode was fantastic just in the fact that it was longer than usual. It makes the story move forward, especially since the April fools article about the entire rituals being shown with Sumer, you learn to appreciate the pace of this show.
There were so many lines which were phenomenally scripted and performed, but one line which exceeded my expectations (which are pretty high) was when Paro said, "What wife leaves her husband?", not realizing Rudra's mother had left her husband.
I think Rudra reacted because of that line. I believe the whole point of this is to show how Paro will change the perspectives of Rudra. She's there as the healer, while he's there as the hero.
The episode stuck with story line, 15 years ago the little girl initiated the bonding while she saw a little boy in his true form, a scared sad and sorrow stricken boy. She gave him the doll, gave him what was hers, she didn't ask if he wanted it or needed it. 15 years later she saw the same boy, unknown to her it was him, in his true form a hero always there to protect her. After trials and turbulence, she now realizes the same boy is none other than Rudra, she once again rushes to give him what is hers, and once again she rushes to heal.
Rudra, or Major Saab, was nothing but his true self. His mind echoed Laila's words, he knew it made a difference to him, but he fought it like how he's been fighting all his life. Then came the moment where Paro comes to heal, to give him what is hers, and in reality is his. Nothing has changed form the meeting of when they were little, he was reluctant, confused, hesitant, what would make someone be so kind, so generous? He had been raised seeing greed and selfishness, how could someone possibly be so selfless.
I don't know if it hit a chord with you guys as well about the parallel between Paro's confession and Laila's confession. They were both so different but Rudra's response to both were almost exactly the same. Ironically, he hates the word love. He's never felt real love, not from his mother who left him or the father who spoon fed him hatred towards beautiful women. There's a deep wound which was temporarily relieved by a single memory, but the deeper cut needs time to heal.
These were some things which stuck out for me. I absolutely am in love with this pace, I know like some people I want to watch this serial for years and years, but I also know I'd rather prefer quality than quantity and that is exactly what the entire cast has been providing.
Please do leave responses as I would be more than delighted to read your perspectives.
