When Raveena Tandon stunned everyone on the sets of Bombay Velvet

While gossip about Ranbir Kapoor and Katrina Kaif's dates and Anushka Sharma's open secret relationship with Virat Kohli dominate news from the sets of Anurag Kashyap's period drama Bombay Velvet, few know that Raveena Tandon ravished the crew and onlookers on the sets with her stellar performance.

Raveena plays a nightclub singer, the same as Anushka in the film. The nightclub shares it's name with film's title. During the course of this film, Raveena develops a rivalry with the up and coming singer played by Anushka.

What stunned onlookers here was Raveena's performance. Seen rarely now on the silver screen, she had to deliver a 3 and a half minute monologue in her first shot. She delivered a perfect take in the very first, taking a rather demanding and qualitative Anurag Kashyap by surprise! But she insisted on bettering her act and delivered ten takes, each one more perfect than the other. Raveena received a standing ovation from a blown away crew, and she was thrilled, grinning from ear to ear!

Few may remember that Raveena had wow-ed everyone with her performance as a nightclub performer in Aks, with Amitabh Bachchan and Manoj Bajpai. Bombay Velvet might be an encore to that act which got lost due to a poorly performing film.
