O Romeo - Vishal/Shahid Combo - BO Prospects?

Vishal Bhardwaj - Shahid Kapoor combo of Director/Actor have done 3 films in Past.

1. Kaminey - Average [Rave Reviews]

2. Haider - Average [Reviews/Awards]

3. Rangoon - Disaster [Misfire totally]

Now, Vishal Bhardwaj is no doubt a Brilliant Director, mine favorite, but from BO point of view, he isn't able to get 1 Single Clean HIT Film, a clean HIT, no matter how much exceptional reviews they got, at best only 2 film AVERAGE, and that is with Shahid only.

Other Side, Shahid is one of the finest Actor at present, but uska bhi Stardom bahut limited hai, Ek Kabir Singh(which was Vanga Loaded), Jab we Met, Padmavat & Vivah, bas 4 films in which whole career span of 23 years which could be super duper hits, in those also, he wasn't the sole reason or STAR who could pull off any film on his own, that yes, audience came for him.

Now this combo has come with a film which is loaded with ABUSES, full on, no beep, direct dialouges which are not even double meaning, sidha meaning, like "Kapde Utaar", koi filter nahi, RAW, MASSY, iss baar full on LOADED, means you straightforwardly Blown the prospect of FAMILY AUDIENCE Coming for this film. Laundey Lapaadey ki BHEED aayegi agar aana chahegi, if they go on for trailer & expect some masala in film.

My Question is - When already, a Director who isn't able to cross a simple HIT line, a Actor despite Good Looking/Talented can't put HOUSEFULL Boards across his films, does this Abusive/Double X type full loaded Film can bring the much needed BO Success for this combo???

It is true that the definition of superstar has changed in this era of OTT and Youtube and other social media...Now Superstars are those who can elevate a good content movie from average to hit, hit to blockbuster, blockbuster to ATBB and so on and so forth...The bigger the star, bigger the draw! It remains to see if Shahid is that actor, of course given that O Romeo is good content wise otherwise all bets are off...Shahid or no other actor of this era can drag a dead weight unlike the previous era's stars like SRK and Salman...Wishing the best for him because he is undoubtably one of the good actors we have....

In your reply there isn't certainty, there is a question mark if only content is good. But today Good to Brilliant content also not working even with big stars, like Kesari 2 & Haq.

A very specific target audience which will come for masala not content.

VB has tried this kind of Experiment with Omkara, film wise A Masterpiece but still a Dud.

Isnt it what I essentially said?.... Good content is just the basic...after that it depends on the star to which level they can take it to....Well, in most cases anyway....

Vishal has done the gaali gangster in omkara and kaminey. shahid has done long hair and gaali in kaminey and udta Punjab.
