Actor Emraan Hashmi today accused a housing society in posh Bandra of "religious discrimination" saying that it denied him the No Objection Certificate (NOC) to purchase a flat in the building because he is a Muslim.
"This is clearly a case of religious discrimination. Some people told me that this society is biased towards Muslims. They did not tell me directly but it is obvious," the actor alleged.

Religious Bias
Barkha Dutt brought up something that Shabana Azmi said, about being discriminated when trying to buy property. She then asked Saif if he had experienced something similar and he said he had, and talked about how once he couldnt buy a flat in Juhu coz of his religion. But not really being too bothered about it. Says he understands why they might feel that way. It's at 21:30 into the longer video link, below

"I find it odd when people start praying for the success of their film. They take their cans before a release to be blessed in a temple. I mean, there are people starving on the streets, and we're praying for crores. I just think it would be an unjust God that would grant that prayer. "
