Are International Box Office Collections Not Counted?

I am a little confused by this concept, its a bit unclear.

Does a movie only get a hit status based on the collections in India only? Or are profits earned internationally also accounted for?

For example, Shaddi Ke Side Effects has a budget of 30 crores, and it has earned 30.83 crores in its first week in India. Now if we add International collections, doesn't that mean that they movie is a hit? So why is being called a flop? (I am only using this movie as an example because I don't get the concept and have come across this issue many times)

I maybe don't understand how this works, so if someone can clarify please 😊

No . There are 3 types of collections-domestic,overseas and worldwide

I know that, but my question is, would overseas and worldwide collections be accounted for in terms of the movie being a flop, hit, superhit, bb, etc

No. The movies gets a different verdict at each of the 3 categories . A movie can be hit at domestic BO but flop overseas

The main verdict is based on the Indian audience only...and its so unfair because it u see collectively...Number of overseas audience>number of Indian audience...

And I am talking about numbers here...not quality before anyone decides to jump on me 😆

Oh wow, I didn't know that. That's a really stupid system, I mean if a movie DOES make its money then how can it be unsuccessful or a flop lol Its kind of ridiculous in my opinion.

Yes it is a stupid system...but people will come up with kinds of logic that how a dollar is equal to so many rupees...and so on...whatever it is...but its stupid to not count the overseas profit of a movie before declaring its status 👎🏼
