She cut the phone harshly and turned to see whether he was listening.

No! He was there, all right. But he was in his own reverie.

She elided something and thought,

'What is that he is thinking over?'

'Why didn' t he ask what was that?'

'Completely not interested, right?'

'At least he could have asked Any problem?' '

She cleared her throat once and looked him.

Nothing!

She took her phone, stood and said, "Excuse me!"

Still there was no response.

She moved to a reasonable distance from where he was sitting and waiting for the doctor to come out of the operation theatre.

She listened to her phone before she pleaded, "Please! Not now!"

She let out a sigh.

She stole a glance at his direction and continued.

"See! I'm in the hospital. Let me call you later."

That caught his attention and he turned his head slightly in her direction.

She squinted at him once, before she rebuked in to phone, "Oh! Shut up! " and hung the phone up yet again.
