I, You and who is amid?
Part-4:
Love looks not with the eyes, but with the mind,
And therefore is winged Cupid painted blind.
-Shakespeare.
3 rd Day of the week:
Morning:
She was not responding for his questions, at first. After he made tremendous effort to make her crack, she opened up.
"I didn't think he would cheat me like this!"She started in a crying tone.
"What are you talking about?"
He shocked literally.
"I'm talking about how he cheated me, how he avoided me yesterday, how he-"
"Oh, come on! Stop beating around the bush! Tell me, what he did?"
He cut in and rebuked.
That made her pull herself together, and started again.
"He didn't pick up my call yesterday night and called me in the morning to inform that he was out with her. He made some excuses for not picking up my calls and for going out with her. He said his mother insisted and that girl invited and some scrap!"
"What if, all he said was true?" He stressed.
"Oh! You know nothing about him. He is like that and all men are like that only! Everybody seems cheating! Everybody is ready to cheat the opponent and if you find it out, they won't-"
She stopped herself, as he seemed waiting for her to finish, as he crossed his hands across his chest looking at her resolutely.
She lowered her head and said at length,
"I'm sorry. I was hysteric! But you are not like him. You are not cheating me." She apologized.
"That's why I asked his number?"
He said quietly.
"What's the difference?" she asked spiritlessly.
"The difference is, ma'am! He would have picked up the phone if it had flashed a new number. He wouldn't have to explain me where he was or with whom!"
She was dumb-bounded at his reasoning.
She nodded her head positively a moment later.
'Surely he had the gift of the gag!'
"At least now you can give me his number!"
He picked his phone and stood ready.
She was furious all over again.
"Forget him! If he indeed needs me, he has to come forth and say so! I'll never go to him on my own. That's for sure!"
"I thought you understood his situation." He was confused.
"I did!" she accepted at once."And he could have called me in the first place and told me that he was going with her. I think I deserve that!"
"Of course you do, lady! But what would be the use; would you accept and send him happily with her?"
He asked further.
' Hah, every man is alike whatever the name he has!'
"I don't think that is an excuse!"
She retorted back.
He tried some more and once got that his efforts were going vain, he let her go, for the time being.
Next day:
He tried hard the next day too to convince her. But he could not make her budging in a bit. She vowed that she hated to hear even the boy friend's name mentioned at her presence, for that boy friend did not even try to convince her.
The day went without much development.
The last part will be updated soon, to save you from this torment guys...
