I, You and who is amid?

Part 3:

The doctor said the refreshing cliche, "Don't worry! The operation is success. You can see the patient in an hour."

He replied somewhat relieved,

"Thank you, doctor!"

'At least the witness' life is safe!'

Once arrived the patient's relatives and once arranged guards for his protection, they moved for their next task.

He left her at the lobby to pick up his SUV.

As her eyes followed him to the doorway, she thought,' Thank God! I could tell him everything. He will definitely help her to sort out her problems, one way or the other!'

What she did not know was the remedies he would refer, would demand her to crack in a way that she would never have dreamt of in her worst dreams.

Once she hopped in, the car darted off from the hospital vicinity. He snarled at her," The seat belt!"

With that he went silent.

She was silent too for most of the journey. But she could not shut her mind up. She reminded again.'It was not her fault. He asked to say!'

His temperament after she revealed her story, made her smile.

"Before all this fuss," she started again," we were like love birds! You know, humming all the time, laughing at everything that comes our path, arguing nearly every topic in the world, even about having how many children are safe for the house..."she laughed aloud, "he would tell we could have a dozen, without a problem, since his mother loved babies dearly.

"Hmm... Now we are talking about this only topic that how to get married, without erupting much problem, that is. He is slamming the phone at my face or I'm shouting at him 'Shut up!' "

She was talking pensively, and stopped talking as she doubted that whether he was at least listening to her moan.

Suddenly he turned to face her, with a sparkle in his eyes.

From that moment on he was the one who, talked mostly till the engagement day.

"So we have the girl's number?"

She got a premonition of what was coming and also startled at his mentioning of 'We'.

"Yes. He has! " she corrected and "So?" she asked slowly.

"So we can contact her any time." He said curtly.

"Haan?" She looked at him dubiously.

"We can try to make sense out of her about the situation."

"I think so!" she accepted the idea at once, quietly.

"We already lost a day towards the engagement!" she said a minute later.

They had reached the office.

Next Day Afternoon:

Once they relieved from the tension the job cast over them they met after lunch at the corridor, as he was about to reach his room, as she was coming out of the rest room. They started walking through the corridor together.

He asked her at the very first leisure moment,

"What happened?"

She remembered 'He is asking about him!', at once.

"Where?" She returned.

"Has Krish discussed the matter with that girl? What's her name anyway?" he elobbarated it for her.

"I don't know her name. He said it would n' t be of any use, since she knew already about me!"

"I see!" He seemed thinking.

"Let me think of another way to solve the problem!"

He said as they reached his room.

"Ok!" She replied and went away.

That evening:

She was in the kitchen preparing raidha for supper. Her mind was thinking about him. 'Still no phone call! Even though she had told him that they got less time to deal with!'

Her phone rang at last.

She picked it up at the second ring and said somewhat irritated, "Hello!"

"I came up with some idea!" He said after a moment's hesitation.

"Oh really! Tell me!" She showed some excitation, as she involved herself into the conversation.

"Tell me the number of your boy friend first!" He urged her.

"What? I - I mean for what?"

"To tell him the idea!"

"What if he won't hear you ?"

"Not if a friend speaks!"

"Tell me the idea first. Then we will decide to tell him or not!"

"All right! " He yielded, "Hear this carefully. You people say,, if we say anything to that girl about you, she will care a jot for the matter. Ok, Fair! What if we say something about your boyfriend? Say, for instance, he has not only you as a girl friend, but also some other girls in that list!"

She dilated her eyes and said softly, "Just so! Let me talk to him tonight!"
