I get this feeling that the picture Tara took of her dad will be important in the future!!!!😊 😊 😊 😊

Why did Tara's dad say that the announcement would change Tara's life forever??😕 😕 😕 😕

Tara is looking beautiful in that dress and Mrityunjay gets lost seeing her in it!!!!😊 😊 😊 😊 👏 👏 👏 👏

I loved it when Mrityunjay asked her for a dance and they danced!!!!😊 😊 😊 😊

Nirmala relies on Tara to check on the arrangements just as if Tara was her bahu!!!!😉 😉 😉 😉 😊 😊 😊 😊

Jayraj made Mrityunjay in charge of the whole of Shekhawat textiles!!!!😛 😛 😛 😛 😊 😊 😊 😊Wow!!!!👏 👏 👏 👏

But that means that Mrityunjay would be going away to Mumbai, away from Tara!!!😔 😔 😔 😔

The terrace scene was superb and instead of being at the party both spend it there with each other!!!!😊 😊 😊 😊 👏 👏 👏 👏

The chapter was very good!!!!👏 👏 👏 👏

You never know!

And Taara's Dad didn't say anything about the announcement changing her life, Mrityunjay's Dad told Mrityunjay that the announcement would change his life!

Glad you liked the update though! 😊

Chapter 7

"Taara, Taara, come down stairs quickly," I heard Aunty say. My head, which was resting on Mrityunjay's shoulder, instantly shot up. Mrityunjay and I looked at each other confused. What had happened?

I ran down the stairs with Mrtyunjay behind me. I was shocked at the sight before me. Papa was lying on the floor, coughing, surrounded by uncle and aunty. I ran to him and sat down.

"What happened to Papa?" I asked. No one would answer me. How would they? No one knew what had happened.

It was as if my world had stopped. Seeing my father in this condition was the worst thing ever. I heard Aunty telling Mrityunjay to call the ambulance. I was still in a shock, refusing to get up when aunty asked me to. I sat there until the paramedics came and lifted Papa onto a stretcher.

I felt Mrityunjay's arm come around me. "Come, let's go to the hospital," he said and slowly led me to his car and opened the door. I sat in and he walked to his side and got in.

It hurt so much to see her this way. This wasn't Taara at all. She was always smiling, never crying... I couldn't bear to see these tears in her eyes.

"Taara," I said softly. She slowly looked up at me, her eyes filled with tears. "Uncle, will be fine. Nothing's going to happen."

She turned back to look out the window. I started the car and drove as fast as I could to get to the hospital.

We stopped behind the ambulance and got out. Taara ran straight into the hospital behind the stretcher. I went in behind her, my parents following us. They had just taken uncle in when I got there. I saw my mom go up behind Taara and rest her hand on her shoulder. Taara turned and hugged her.

"Taara, don't cry like this," my mom said, comforting her. "Aunty, do you know what happened?" she asked with a small voice. At last, she finally spoke. Before my mom could say anything, the doctor came out.

"Doctor, what happened?" I asked, getting up instantly. I couldn't take this any more. I just wanted everything to be fine.

"Ms. Kaul, hasn't he told you?" the doctor asked. "Told me about what?" I asked. What hadn't he told me? I was so confused.

"Told me about what doctor?" I repeated.

"About his illness... Ms. Kaul, I thought you knew about it," the doctor said.

"His illness?" I asked, confirming.

"Yes, he is diagnosed with lung cancer on the last stage," the doctor said. I felt as if the floor had been swept away from under my feet. Papa, cancer... that was impossible. No. It just couldn't. No.

"You must be kidding. That's not possible at all," I said, stepping back.

"Ms. Kaul I have been treating him for the past six months, I'm not lying," he replied.

"No," I whispered.

"Ms. Kaul, he doesn't have much time left. His health is deteriorating very quickly. He may not have more that one month to live," the doctor said. "Maybe not even that."

I didn't listen to him. I just couldn't! He had to be lying. It just wasn't possible. My Papa couldn't leave me like this.

"No," I kept whispering and moved back. I bumped into some one. I looked to see who it was. It was Mrityunjay. I could see the tears in his eyes. I didn't want to talk to anyone. I just turned and ran out.

I watched her run out. I didn't know how to react but all I knew is that she shouldn't be alone. Not now, not ever. I was her best friend; I had to be there for here.

I turned to go after her when my mom called me, "Mrityunjay, let her go." "Why mom?" I asked.

"Mrityunjay, she needs time to understand everything that's going on. I don't think that you should go," she replied. I looked at my Dad, leaning against the wall.

"Your mom is right, she needs some time to be alone," he said.

"Mom, Dad, how are you guys so calm after learning about this?" I asked. My mom looked away. "Did you... already know?"

"Yes, your father and I both know. We've known it since he was first diagnosed," she confirmed.

That came as a shock. But I didn't want to deal with it at the moment. First I had to see Taara, know that she was ok.

"Mom..." I couldn't complete my sentence. I just turned around and left to find Taara.

"Excuse me, have you seen this girl?" I asked the receptionist, showing her a picture of Taara on my phone.

"Yes sir, she went that way," she said, pointing to the door. She couldn't have gone too far.

"Thank you," I said and headed out.

I was walking away from the hospital. I didn't know where I was going but all I knew was that I needed to get away from there. It was too much to handle. I was so lost in my own thoughts that I didn't even realize that my foot had bent and I was about to fall. I braced my self for the fall only to realize that I didn't.

There was a strong grip around my waist, stopping me from falling. I could recognize that touch from anywhere. I knew before I even saw him. It was Mrityunjay.

I walked out to see her walking in the opposite direction. I ran after her to catch up to her. I saw her about to fall and encircled her waist to keep her from falling.

She looked up at me, her eyes filled with tears. I helped her stand up and said, "Taara." She didn't say anything. She just hugged me and cried. I put my arms around her and let her cry. There was nothing else that I could do.

The rain started to fall, slowly, starting off as a drizzle. I pulled Taara away from me and looked at her. She wasn't crying anymore but her eyes were red and puffy.

"Come," I said leading her to the bench. She sat down and I took off my coat and put around her shoulders.

"Taara, nothing's going to happen if you cry," I said. "You're the strong one. You have to be there for your Papa."

"Papa... Mrityunjay, Papa why didn't he tell me anything?" she asked innocently. How could I answer that? I didn't know my self. "Only he would have the answer to that," I said.

I looked up at Mrityunjay and met his eyes. I swallowed and got up to leave with him. As we walked back, the rain started to increase so we ran back to the hospital. We ran back and Mrityunjay opened the door to the hospital entrance. As we walked back to Papa's room, I took Mrityunjay's hand. He squeezed it slightly to reassure me. When we reached the room, we walked straight up to the door. I let go of Mrityunjay's hand and opened the door.

I opened the door to find my father on the bed with drips and various other machines. A tear rolled down my cheek. It hurt so much to see him like this. I quickly wiped the tear away. I didn't want him to see it. I slowly walked up to the bed and sat on the stool.

"Papa," I said softly. He opened his eyes and looked at me.

"Taara, beta," he said. I took his hand in mine and rested my cheek on it.

"Why didn't you tell me?" I asked.

"How could I tell you? I can't see tears in my princess' eyes," he said.

"I'm not crying," I said.

"Not now but you were before. Your eyes are red," he said.

"Papa, you should rest," I said.

"One minute Taara," he said.

"Yes Papa," I asked.

"Will you fulfill my last wish?" he asked. His words were breaking my heart.

"Of course I will Papa, I will always do whatever you tell me too," I said.

"Get married to Mrityunjay," he said.

I was shocked. Me, get married to Mrityunjay?

"Papa..." I said.

"Taara, I have always wanted to see you get married and that too to Mrityunjay. You're not going to find a better guy to marry in this world other than Mrityunjay," he said.

I would do anything for my dad, even get married to my best friend. "Papa, everything will happen the way you want it to," I said. "I'm ready to get married to Mrityunjay."

"Really beta?" he asked. "Yes Papa," I confirmed. "Papa you've talked a lot now. You should get some sleep."

"Ok Taara," he said and closed his eyes. Pretty soon I could hear the noise of him snoring and despite the million thoughts running through my mind at the moment, the tiredness eventually overtook me and I fell asleep there as well.

I was standing out there, waiting for Taara. I had sent mom home and told her that I would bring Taara with me. Dad was also waiting with me. I opened the door to find Taara asleep and Uncle awake.

"Mrituyunjay, take her home," he said.

"Are you ok uncle?" I asked. "I'm fine beta. Just take her home please," he repeated. "Yes," I said and picked up Taara. "Good night uncle," I said. "Good night beta," he said and I left.

"Mrityinjay, take Taara to our home. I don't want her to be alone at her house," dad said as I came out.

"Ok, are you going to stay here?" I asked. "Yes, now you go home. Your mom must be waiting for you," he said. I left with Taara in my arms.

I opened the door to the car and gently placed her on seat. I moved to go to the other side but her hand was holding the collar of my shirt and it pulled me back down. I slowly took her hand off of my collar and moved to leave again when I saw a tear roll down her cheek. I slowly wiped it away. Taara was going through so much at the moment. I just wanted everything to be all right.

I stopped the car in front of the house and looked at Taara. She was resting her head on my shoulder. I slowly moved her back onto her own seat and got out to bring her inside. I managed to ring the doorbell and my mom opened the door.

"Mrityunjay..." "Shh," I said gesturing towards Taara.

I brought her in and headed towards the guest room. I placed her on the bed and turned to leave when I heard her say something.

"Mrityunjay, are you going to leave me as well??" I heard her ask. I turned around and saw that she was still sleeping.

"Please don't leave me," she said.

I bent down so that I was eye level with her. There were more tears rolling down her cheeks. I wiped them all away.

"I'm not going anywhere. I'll be here with you, forever and always," I whispered.

She took my hand and snuggled with it. I stayed there for the rest of the night and fell asleep with my head on the bed. I just wanted everything to be all right. I couldn't see all of this pain within Taara.
