You dont have to go to jail for clear your sins (Saying this because it have been for years) that probably even god have forgive him for it if he has sincerely ask for forgiveness, you just need to ask forgiveness from God sincerely and properly and Allah forgives all sins. Truly, He is Most Forgiving (only people who are truly a muslim will know and understand this, not for someone who pretends to be a muslim)..

Allah says: "Unless he repents, believes, and works righteous deeds, for Allah will change the evil of such persons into good, and Allah is Oft-Forgiving, Most Merciful," [Srah al-Furqn: 70]

Allah says this right after mentioning the sins of polytheism, murder, and adultery. However, this blessing is only for one who have faith, whose repentance is sincere, and who strives to work righteous deeds.

Not expecting any forgiveness from any human, they are all stone heart anyway & are incapable of something like "forgiveness"..All they are capable of is laughing at someone else mistake/unfortunate even in ones life . Neither their parents could teach them anything, neither will their believes & religion & god.. Let the man who hasn't sinned throw the first stone. Who are we to judge? Eventually from dust we are & to dust we shall return.
