It is not about the replacement as such things occur often enough. The agitation is all because of the manner in which an actor was ousted. Also the timing was totally irreverent ..both with respect to him and the viewers. Karan was unwell and had requested medical leave . It was also festival time for him as his wife is a Christian. Further for him, his family and all viewers it was the season for goodwill and cheer. Therefore for a senior executive of Zee to act the way he did was absolutely unprofessional. He laced it further with acrimony by bringing in Karan's personal life over which we as viewers have no jurisdiction. We are here only to appreciate his acting which was brilliant to start with. As the serial introduced illogical tracks starting with the unpalatable Tanveer episodes there may have been creative differences that affected Karan's performance, esp after the infamous accidental nikah. When an actor is not in sync with the story this bound to happen.
It is possible that Karan himself did not want to continue and may not be willing to return now with recent developments in the production(the Channel deprived its viewers of watching the Asya nikah with Kabhi... they had been waiting patiently for it over months) But though he may bow to fan's wishes as he has always expressed his love for them..it is Zee that remains stonehearted. They have persisted with a cold hearted and often rude response to the viewer's pleas.
This is absolutely unforgivable in an industry which survives on the viewers as they hold the remote and this may effect the Channel more than they have bargained for. That the down slide is already there is apparent from the way the serial has dipped in moral content and it is clear that the CH/ PH is resorting to increased sexuality to keep QH on a ventilator..but for how long?
Many quit with KSG .Some of us were waiting for a friendly turnaround by Zee in keeping with their Vasudeva Kutumbakam slogan. But Zee is blind to reality drowned as they are with an inflated ego. They thought they could appease the distraught fans by expelling Mr Bhawlankar ,the infamous architect of the Karan Ouster.Surely that is not enough as the damage to Karan's professional and personal life was gigantic and totally uncalled for.
On their part they can only win back their viewers by showing remorse for their uncharitable words and actions. Otherwise Zee stands to lose just as other Channels before them who stood firm in their unjustified stance. For how long can they throw away hard earned goodwill and good money with shoots at the Taj and unpalatable sex scenes to bring the viewers back ? More will flee if they persist with this as television is watched by families in India and such scenes are not appreciated.
On Karan's part ...he will surely ride the wave back to the crest as he is immensely talented... and with the support of his legion of loyal fans he will soon be back where he belongs ...at the pinnacle.
Koi Shaque ?
