to me

Dear Meera ,

We appreciate your views on DOLI ARMANO KI

The show is about Urmi who had a lot of expectation from marriage but ended up with a husband like Samrat . Today there are many women who are facing similar issues after marriage and the idea is to show what will Urmi do after being treated like a door mat

Our shows always aims to give a message to society

Punar Vivah too had a message which was hugely appreciated but like all shows it too had a end once it was conveyed.

Request you to stay tuned and continue mailing us in future too

Regards

To ZEE TV

And when do you propose to bring the backbone for Urmi? What is your defination of a door mat? Will this happen when you lose the viewers and get an ax notice?

There were so many great serials you started with like Ram Milaye Jodi, Phir Subah Hogi, Pavirta Rishta 2 to name a few. All these serials went downhill in no time because of illogical plots and people losing interest resulting in these shows being axed.

Honestly, I have no faith in you redeeming Doli Armaanon Ki because Samrat's character is the worst you have ever created. Most Villians have a reason or a purpose to be villians, this man has zero reason or logic to behave the way he behaves and with each ongoing episode he becomes more and more disgusting. Even a spoilt kid throws tantrums for a reason and a dog barks for a reason. This man is even past being considered a mental patient because he is even 10 steps ahead of them.

You still have some viewers left because they find the actor hot and few who are waiting to see the payback for Sam's character. With each day I lose faith that even a logical payback will happen.

Good serials becoming crappy half way seems to be your style. At this rate Zee TV will be like the letter Z (the last in viewership and TRPs
)

100% disagree...I am loving the serial. Bravo for Moihit for performing character of Samrat so well. It is a unique character among the other serials but a real character in many households...Unfortunately I know somebody who I can relate to Samrat. DAK have increased its popularity and fans too.
I am interested to watch how Urmi paves her way and turns around the storyline and show a husband like Samrat, power of a woman and most importantly in the absense of Ishan.

So basically Zee TV is trying to say they create shows to send some kind of message or social awareness and that is the intent with DAK.
Sorry to say this but I fail to agree with that statement. I will say they pick up shows that have a good CONCEPT - good potential for a progressive story. Unfortunately somewhere down the road and I don't know if this is the channel's doing or the production house or a combination of the 2 - after a point all the shows become some kind of regressive saga of protagonist verses antagonist - good characters being exploited/humiliated/tormented/ridiculed by the evil characters to the point where it makes you cringe to watch the show and then suddenly at the very end all these long winded conflicts get resolved and the antagonist is miraculously reformed and the protagonist magnanimously forgives them and they all live happily ever after.
Punar Vivah season 1 was a good concept - 2 single parents with young children finding each other and completing their respective families and giving themselves a second chance at marital bliss/companionship and love. Very good concept, very good thought and pretty good starting but as always conflict arises (From the most unnecessary avenues) drama ensures, misunderstandings - all the mirch-masala that translates (apparently) to TRPs - and then it gets unbearable people stop tuning in TRPs drop and the channel decides to cancel the show - then miraculously all conflicts are resolved and happy endings are shown.

Punar Vivah - ek Nayee Umeed was another really good concept - granted the makers couldn't really decide which direction to lead the story too - at first it seemed like the idea was to reunite 2 lovers whom life had pulled in different directions but carried a candle for each other in hopes to be reunited (loving someone unconditionally forever regardless of what life is asking of you - and waiting for them to come back - especially now that you are married slightly unrealistic but i'll accept it) I never understood was the nayi umeed part that even after 10 years your college sweetheart can return (raj -divya) or was the nayi umeed part that after 10 years of matrimony you decide to give your marriage a fair chance and accept your present (raj-sarita) or was the nayi umeed part that you call off your hoax of a marriage and set each person free to find someone who wants a married life with them (vikrant-sarita) either way - either of those scenarios would have been a compelling - progressive mature story to tell had the stories been developed and articulated properly.

Sorry for rambling but my point is - all the shows Zee has been showing or any hindi serial of recent history - all start out with something "different" or a fresh often progressive concept but pretty soon they all turn to kitchen politics and regressive drama which is very off putting to us viewers - which will naturally cause a dip in TRPs.

Wake up producers and channel heads - if you want to maintain high ratings - start striking a balance between telling a well developed story with a consistent train of thought - rather than turning to over the top, melodramatic kitchen politics for TRPs. I'm pretty sure any show that can maintain it's initial concept and tell a well developed story be it for a few months or a few years - will maintain its loyal viewership - kitchen politics can't sustain viewership.

The key part of the email is @blue bold.

Punar Vivah too had a message which was hugely appreciated but like all shows it too had a end once it was conveyed.

They are saying that they can't show Urmi standing up and leaving because that signals the beginning of the natural end. So instead of showing a storyline with a tight script and plot, they have to drag Samrat's jackassery as long as they can. And while doing that, they have to make him as horrible as possible to "justify" Urmi's decision to walk out. She was the good wife for so long, but finally she had enough.
