Rank Last week Film Plusses Minuses
1 Namastey London The film has sustained remarkably well in its second week and so has the music. Each of the songs in the album has been liked, which is something rare in current music scenario where the trend is to see one or at maximum two numbers being responsible for an album's success. The album had a slow but steady journey towards the top in a bid to find an audience for it. Nevertheless, the wait has been worth it!
6 Life In A ..Metro A classic album with a new age sound, 'Metro' is seeing a splurge in the sales with every passing day. Peaking to #2 in its third week of release, this soundtrack by Pritam now has almost a month to topple 'Namaste London' from the top spot before the mid-May release of the film. Though the album is doing good business all over, there would still be a segment of music lovers who would be missing their routine 'naachgaana'
3 Guru Rock steady at #3, 'Guru' is second consecutive success in as many years for A.R.Rahman after 'Rang De Basanti'. Maintaining his high quality standards, Rahman demonstrates once again that being selective is a virtue which comes to him naturally. 'Ek Lo Ek Muft' and 'Baazi Laga'
9 Ta Ra Rum Pum The biggest gainer of the week, Vishal Shekhar composed TRRP has jumped by 5 spots to break into Top-5. There is competition though at the top and it would be a challenge for it to aim for the Top 2 position. Though overall the album is a decent to good hear, there is no 'chartbuster' variety number that could be the USP of TRRP to make it rock the nation.
4 Dhoom 2 Making way for YRF's own TRRP, 'Dhoom 2' moves down by a spot. Nevertheless the heat is still on as the songs from the album continue to play across music channels, especially the title song choreographed on Hrithik Roshan and Aishwarya Rai which never ceases to be a rage. With a flurry of albums arriving in coming weeks, 'Dhoom 2' would now have to make way in Top-5 for the new arrivals in around a fortnight's time
5 Anwar After enjoying its stint in the Top-5 for weeks at stretch, 'Anwar' makes a graceful decline with new entrants like 'Metro' and TRRP making their presence felt. For a film with no other notable credentials except for the two numbers 'Maula Mere' and 'Javeda Zindagi', it is an exceptional achievement. Most of the tracks by Pankaj Awasthi are harsh on ears
8 Kya Love Story Hai 'Kya Love Story Hai' remains stable on the lower side as the Kareena continues to rock with 'It's Rocking'. The song should prove to be a major booster towards the initial which film takes on its 20th April release. Majority of focus of the film as well the music has shifted to 'It's Rocking' which has led to under promotion of some of the other deserving numbers
2 Salaam-E-Ishq Shocker of week, 'Salaam E Ishq' takes a massive fall of 6 spots to suddenly find itself staring at the barrel. It is quite unexplainable since till just a week back, it was maintaining a steady presence in the Top-5. One does expect the album to fight it out in the charts before it moves out of Top-10. None
New Ek Chalis Ki Last Local 'Laare Choote' has done the trick. A song that kept going strong for around a month and finally succeeded in bringing the album into Top-10, it has an imaginative music video shot which only adds on to the retention value. Most of the album is situational with rest of the tracks expected to catch up after being seen in the film
10 Don - The Chase Begins Again Just about managing to hang at the bottom of the charts, these are last days for 'Don' in the charts. Now one looks forward to the next score of Shankar Ehsaan Loy which should in all likelihood be for 'Hey Baby'. None
