Madhuri, Kajol and Aishwarya STILL come in Top 10 actreses list, even though there is so much competition. People still remember them.

People WANT to see them. The problem that I see is that these actresses themselves don't "want" success as much. The fire and ambition inside them dies. They become mothers and then they kind of stop caring and move on.

If we can have someone like Beyonc in the world, who bounced back in a huge way after marriage and kids, then why not here? I know that's the west and this is India, but I have yet to see a married actress who is a mother in India who WANTS to do well and compete and be included in the rat race.

Madhuri is clearly just around for the money, Sridevi seems like she doesn't care.

I really think Aishwarya and Kajol CAN break the mould, and Im sure they get good offers as well but I don't see the motivation and will power in them to want to do good. Kareena has now hopefully learned her lesson so she can buck up and sign some solid projects...And you cant take off for many years and then expect to come back...like Karishma took a 9 year break, Madhuri took a 5 year break...its been 3 years since Aishwarya has been on-screen...You really cant take such long breaks and then expect to come back and be JUST AS POPULAR. I think maximum 2 years, and then you should resume.

I think the audience can accept an older actress, she just has to be smart about it and constantly reinvent herself. It can happen, and im sure it will happen one day. But if these women continue this old fashioned mentality that they have to leave everything after having kids and not have a career - then sadly it wont happen for a while. Its not impossible,

Yes I agree sometimes the break can be bad for actresses like madz left industry in 2002 and then came back in 2007 which was after 5 years that was a long back and then now she came back after 7 years and that too with the sequel of Ishqiya, to be honest I found Ishqiya 1 so much better in terms of script than Ishqiya 2. She should do more movies like gulaab gang. I am sure GG would be a hit.

Karishma too came back with a crap movie, if she had chosen a good movie to make a come back with then the story would had been different.

I love how kajol always made her comebacks with great movies like fanaa and my name is khan, I wish she was more passionate about her movies, same goes for aish. Aish is brilliant actress but I feel she lost her interest in acting post marriage but now since she's making her come back. I have hopes from her, hope it will be a strong one.

And I agree honestly age is just a number and marriage is relation status, these things shouldn't make difference in your career if you are passionate about your career, I mean a break of a year or two is fine as you said but not more than that.

I hope to see kajol aish madz juhi karishma come back, they are mindblowing actresses and can give competition to all current actresses.

And she has turned down some amazing movies for lame reasons !

If she decides to become a sensible person then definitely she can bounce back !

I agree her script choice nowadays isn't the best but I won't say her career is over. She is one actress who had done some epic movies. She did critically acclaimed plus box office successes, she's been in this industry for longest time and I hope now she makes right choices and come back with a bang

I just don't get this, why actresses are looked down upon and most recent example Kareena. People are saying her career is over. But why? Just because she's an actress, is in her 30s and is married. Why these lame reasons?

I know her script choice nowadays is not brilliant but she did give epic movies like jab we met, Omkara, dev, chameli ect and also did box office successes like bodyguard, 3 idiots ect. So just because her recents movies were flop, that doesn't mean her career is over. She can bounce back.

Even many male actors had a lot of flops but we don't say that their career is over. Shahid kapoor had flops from last four years but did anyone ever here say his career is over as much as we say that kareena career is over. And please don't think I hate shahid, I like him a lot but just stating a fact. Why different rules for an actress.

People say that they missed karishma Juhi aish sonali ect and the khans should romance with actresses their age but aren't we are responsible for their exit from the industry, I mean we always look down upon at older actresses.

When an actress gives even 2 flops, we say her career is over but when an actor gives 2 flop we say so what he's gonna bounce back again!

I know Kareena is not number 1 anymore but she's still among the top 5 actresses and she had been in this industry for almost 13 years which is commendable. Just one proper role and she can bounce back again.

Kareena 's main mistake is that she looks who is in the film instead what's in the film as per Anurag Kashyap which is true about her. If she selects Gori Tere Pyaar Mein instead of Ramleela who is too be blamed - the audience or the actor. She still gets good scripts even she is married if she selects south remakes instead of script then no one would like to see her on screen.
