About Vidya... I'm absolutely proud fan of hers. That lady deserves all the applaud. It's more because that she herself is unique... She made her career on her acting talent not on beauty. Despite harsh and harsher criticism of her weight, dresses, this and that, and rather than changing herself through surgery, or weight loss, she remained what she is. Besides, she is amazingly intelligent, offscreen too, she's perfect. No dumb comments, good sense of humor, her honesty and boldness is remarkable. And no matter what, I still bet she wont be treated this way, because earlier as I said, women need to look in a certain way because they act as a decorative piece, however she is signed in movies for acting potential, and she'll always do that.

Completely Agree..I too an a proud Vidya Balan fan..She is a class apart actress..No big banners..so superstar co actors,no lobbying..not the most beautiful or sexy..Yet right there at the top..😊..I remember I was quite apprehensive before watching TDP ..but she bowled me over with her performance..I too hope she does not fade away due to the common drawbacks of the male dominated Bolly Industry..

Unfortunately...the shelf life of actresses is very little in BW...BW is male dominated...the movies are written keeping the male lead in mind...we have very few women oriented movies...the audience doesn't accept older women...
Movie making is an expensive business...so what are the producers supposed to do...they do what will bring them profit...This is the reason why good looking stars are at the top and not average looking excellent actors...

BW doesn't have different rules...Its we as the audience who have to grow and accept older women in the lead...until we change ...BW will keep on doing what brings them the moolah...

A woman is belived to loose her desirable quotient after getting married whereas that if men increases ten gold times after he becomes 40!

This is sad and bitter truth :(
