Chapter-1.
Veera stared angrily as Baldev smiled and crooned at her friend from the city once again..
Rage was boiling up within her..
Aarrghhh!!!Ye Baldev bhi na..!Koi bhi ladki dekho to lattu ho jata hai..!Aur mujhe to jaise dikhta hi nahi..!
[Aarrghhh!!!This Baldev..!Gets impressed by any girl..!And he never seems to notice me at all..!]She thought angrily..
Giving a last disgusted look at him,and his antics at trying to impress her friend,she walked up the stairs to her bedroom..
Angrily,she lay down on her bed with a loud thump..
Amrit was sitting nearby reading a book..
"What happened Veera..?Are you okay..?"
"I'm fine.Just a bit tired..Can you leave me alone for sometime yaar?!!That Baldev's constant gibberish has given me a headache..!"She gritted out.
"No worries yaar! I was just leaving..I'm tired of sitting inside all day anyway..!And anyway Baldev always seems to talk the most when he is around you!Maybe it's you he is always indirectly trying to impress.."Amrit winked at Veera,and left Veera alone,as she rolled her eyes at her comment..
"Baldev!And trying to impress me?!That's not possible ever..He always can just find faults in me.."She muttered to herself angrily and turned over in her bed..
That was when her eyes fell on the book Amrit had left on the bed..
She read the title with a frown..
"Seducing Jack.."She laughed out loud.."What kind of a title is that..?!"She turned over and tried to rest..
As soon as she closed her eyes,her mind played back images of Baldev trying to impress every other girl in the universe except her..
"UFF!!!BALDEVA!!!LEAVE ME ALONE!!!"She seethed out,and tried to close her eyes and imagine counting sheeps..Suddenly she had started counting images of Baldev..
Baldev teasing her,Baldev smiling at her..Baldev looking at her angrily..Baldev arguing with her..
"Ye ho ki raha hai mainu..?!
[What is happening to me..?!]"She murmured in amazement..
It was evening and Veera and her friends were just roaming around the village..And enjoying the evening breeze..
Suddenly one of them saw a mango tree,and one of her friends wanted to have some raw mangoes..
Out of nowhere Baldev popped out,and smiling his sweetest smile,offered to get mangoes for everyone..
And a quietly fuming Veera watched with angry eyes,as he tore mangoes off the tree,climbing it like an expert..To add to her fury,he offered the mangoes to each and everyone of her friends,but not a single one to her..!
Veera sent him a seething look,which like always he did not notice,and strode away..
As she stomped into her room,and closed her door tight shut,she was burning furious!!!She was sick and tired of being ignored by that guy every damn day!
Why did he not give her those warm smiles to her..?!
Why could he not talk to her a little nicely..?!
Why was he always at his worst only with her..?!
Angrily Veera threw her pillow off the bed..
THUD!
She looked down,as she noticed the pillow had bumped into something and dropped a book on thefloor..
Still fuming with frustration,she got up to pick the book up..
It was the same book again..
Seducing Jack..
Something crossed her mind,and suddenly in a few minutes,she was lying on the bed and reading the book..
The next morning Baldev was sitting with his friends Balli and Jaggi at the tea stall,when he heard a tinkling sound from behind him..
A guy infront of him,grinned at seeing something behind his bac,and wolf whistled..
Baldev slowly turned his head to see the cause of the sound..
His eyes almost popped out of their socket,and his jaw hung open at what he saw..
It was Veera..
She was in full on Punjabi attire of a baby pink punjabi suit,with big jhumkas,bangles ,anklets and bindi and everything..Her hair was tied in a long plait too..
Astonished he watched as she swayed her hips and tinkled her way towards the tea stall..
As she passed by the tea stall,the earlier guy wolf whistled again..
He waited for the Sherni to cut the guy alive,but strangely she did not do that..
But what she did instead,nearly gave him a heart attack..
He watched thunderstruck,as Veera looked at the guy who had wolf whistled at her,and sent him a sweet smile and swayed away..
"Isse hua ki hai..?!Subhe subhe daru pee kar ayi hai ki..?!
[What happened to her..?!Did she get drunk early in the morning..?!"He muttered to himself angrily..
He indicated Balli and Jaggi to teach the whistling guy a lesson,and strode after Veera..
His jaw clenched tight in anger..He seriously needed to have a word with her..
