CHAPTER-8.

Baldev looked at her angry and hurt look,and clenched his hands into tight fists..

Her hair hung in wet dangling longs,her face paler than ever,he soft lips were being chewed ruthlessly by her milky teeth,as she tried to hold back her tears,and her captivating eyes..

He inhaled a long steadying breath,and felt his insides burn and melt..Her eyes had him frozen in place..Although rain continuously fell down her face,it could not hide the tears glistening in her filled to the brink eyes..

Wiping some rain water off his face,he took another step towards her..

"Veera..Sun na..

[Veera..Listen..]"His voice was softer than ususal..His hard handsome face guilt stricken..

"Haat maat laga mainu!

[Don't touch me!]"She snapped out angrily..

A completely exasperated and confused Baldev,ran his hands through his hair in frustration..

"Haat lagaya kaab tainu?!Main to sirf tussi baat karna chahtihu aur tu hai ki..

[When did I touch you?!I just want to talk to you,and you are just..]"With his words he had taken another step towards her.

"Baldeva!Main tujhe akhri baar keh rahi hu!Mere paas maat ana!Warna tera aisi haalaat karungi na,ki-..

[Baldeva!I am saying this to you for the last time!Don't come near me!Or else I'll make you suffer so much that-..]"

"Haalat to pehle se hi kharab karchuki hai meri..Aur ki karegi tu?Teri wajaise hi to mainu aisi pagalo ki bimari hogayi hai!Kuch samajh mei nahi araha ki sahi hai aur ki galat..

[Already you are making me suffer so much..What more can you do?It's because of you only that I am behaving like a maniac!I'm not getting anything whether it's right or wrong..]"He murmured to himself in irritation.

"Ki?!

[What?!]"

Baldev finally looked at Veera,and decided to grab the bull by the horn and get it over with..

He suddenly pulled her close,placing his hand on her waist above the jacket she was now wearing above her saree.

She lost her balance at the sudden act,and with a soft gasp fell onto his hard body..

Baldev instantly held her tighter and closer to him..His heart racing,he looked down at her..His body as always had tightened with need ,and his heart raced at her proximity..He did not know why she always had such a strange effect on him..But she just did..His eyes took in her wet from,holding into him for support,and his blood heated up fast..

He noticed she was looking at his chest,avoiding his eyes and suddenly he wanted to see her mesmerizing face and look into her dark big beautiful eyes.

He pulled her face up by holding her chin with one hand..And what he saw nearly killed him..He saw her dark beautiful eyes alright..But the storm in them shredded his heart to pieces..

The storm outside were nothing compared to the storm he could see raging inside her through the dark windows of her soul.

Her magnificent eyes blazed and shone with boundless anger,and the tears that glittered in them,hit him hard onto his stomach..The hurt and pain he had just caused her was immense and helplessly he searched for something in them for atonement.But he could find none..

"Veera..Main..Tu.."

"Baldeva..Maine kaha tha na tainu ki mainu HAAT MAAT LAGA NA!

[Baldeva..Didn't I tell you that DO NOT TOUCH ME!]"With a loud hiss,she pulled herself free from his grasp and started running away not caring that her feet were bleeding more and her legs hurt more than ever..

She just had to get away from him..And the torment he had caused her..She could not believe he had left her over there in the storm all alone..He had-..

Suddenly she gasped out,as she was pulled into a pair of strong arms..Before she could react or fight back,she was picked up in his arms,and carried towards his car..

Dumbstruck Veera stared up at his bearded handsome face,and suddenly she felt all the fight leave her body..He was avoiding her eyes,but she could clearly see the pain,guilt and suffering etched in every line of his face..And Veera numbly stared up at him,as he carried her with ease..

She was carefully placed on the passenger seat,and then she watched numbly as he walked towards the back of his jeep to bring something..

Veera was by then too numb and tired to protest or say anything at all..Her rage had not ended but they were on hold for now..But what he did next made her gasp out in shock.

Carefully he took her one foot in his hand,and cleaned the wounds with water..After staring at them for some minutes with a heart wrenching pain filled expression,he surprised her more by kissing her cuts softly..

Veera felt an odd feeling rise within her at the tender act,but still she could not forget what he had did to her sometime ago..

And then he carefully tended each and every wound..So softly so lovingly,that Veera knew her heart would melt if she looked at him right then..So she looked away..Her eyes oddly prickling with barely held back emotions..

Finally he started on his way back towards Pritampura..Still oddly silent,which was odd for his usual nature.

Finally by the time he stopped the car infront of her house,the storm had stopped,and Veera was about to get down when his voice stopped her..

"Veera..Maine jo kiya wo..Wo teri maafi ki layaak nai hai mainu pata hai..Paar mainu ye kehna tha ki,mainu iss galti ke liye tu kabhi maaf maat karna..Aur tu job hi saza degi mainu manjur hogi..

[Veera..What I did was..Was unforgivable I know..But I wanted to say that,do not forgive me for this mistake ever..And whatever punishment you give me I'll accept..]"His words forced her to turn to face him..

And as soon as their eyes met..Something magical seemed to happen..The atmosphere suddenly became heated up with an invisible yet clearly felt electricity..

Veera inhaled a steadying breath,and that made his eyes move to her lips,and then slowly back into her eyes again..The time seemed to have stopped just then..As an unknown magic started weaving its web around the two person sitting in the car,and staring into each others' eyes..And getting lost in a world of their own..
