CHAPTER-7.

Veera walked backwards her heart thudding in fear,as the man approached her..

Through the pouring rain and thunder splitting above,and the light of the street lamp,she could clearly see his ugly lecherous expression and evil intent..

Her throat choked with bile as fear almost made her numb to think..

Wrapping the flimsy saree material closer round her shivering wet body,she tried her best to think..But unfortunately for her,her brain had stopped functioning too..

The gut snickered at seeing the fear clearly visible on her pale face and wide eyes..

She took some more steps back,as the three guys came closer..

"Dekho!Iththe maat ana meri paas!Mainu..Mainu karate aata hai!

[Listen!Don't come here near me!I..I know karate!]"She stammered in a voice that was not strong enough to warn the guys off,as they walked closer..

One of the guys guffawed loudly..

"Karate babe in saree?!!Let's see you doing karate baby!"Veera cursed herself for wearing a saree at that time..

Suddenly she knew there was no way out of this..

Desperately she looked around for something to hit the guys with,but nothing came into view..And nor was she ready to accept the ugly fate that these guys were planning for her..

Although she was scared to death by them,she was not ready to accept defeat just like that..

As the guys moved one more step closer,suddenly she whirled round and started running,planning to hide inside the forest,when she took the next turn of the road..

"Catch her!The bitch is escaping!"One of the guys called out,as they started running after her..

Veera kept running as fast as she could,her saree hindering her movements and slowing her down..

Gasping and scared for the first time in her life,she ran on..Not ready to give up just yet..

Her sandals got torn so she threw them away,and went on running in her naked feet..

The sound of the guys' footsteps and curses closely following her..

Fear clawed at her insides,and her lung was almost bursting with the flight and fear at the same time..Rain waterpoured down her face,and with a sob she wiped them off her face,as she could see the road in front of her darkening..

Her naked sole got cut by sharp stones on the road,and she could feel blood oozing out of the wounds and still she ran..

She was taking another turn on the road,when suddenly she slipped,and fell on the hard road..Her saree torn by the fall..

She managed to get up,her heart almost bursting in fear,as she noticed the guys had almost caught up with her..

With a scared whimper she was about to run and give a last try to save herself when she bumped into something hard..

Out of breath,she removed the long wet hair strands off her face,and looked up..

Her heart turned over when she saw him..

He looked down at her scared pale face,and then his arms wrapped round her slim wet body protectively,pulling her close by his side..

Veera stood numbly,and watched him hold her protectively by his side,and then look in front,where the three guys had just stopped,all of them out of breath..

In the thunder light could see his face harden in anger and his eyes glint dangerously with barely held back rage..

Slowly he opened his jacket,and placed it round her shoulder,his eyes still on the three guys now stepping back slowly..

Baldev started striding towards them,his hand clenched into tight fists,and the guys turned to run away..

They had not run five steps,when Baldev running up to them caught up with two guys ,pulling them back by their collars..

The guys fell on the floor with a thud,and Baldev pulled one of them up by the collar,punching him hard on the face,while he kicked the other on the floor hard on his groin..

"Meri Veera ko dekhne ki himmat kaise hui tum kottoka!!!

[How dare you dogs look at my Veera!!!]"He screamed out in rage,beating both guys black and blue..

He hit them both hard on their jaws,not letting them stand..

"Himmat kaise hui uske taraf haat barhane ki!!!Haat tod dunga mai tera!

[How dare you extend your hand towards her!!!I'll break your hands!]"He twisted one of the guy's hand backwards as the guy howled out in pain..

Suddenly Veera saw the third guy coming to attack him from behind with a large branch in his hand..

Veera was about to scream a warning,but before she could do so,Baldev whirled round,and pulling the branch off the guy's hand kicked him hard on his stomach..

Now the third guy also fell on the road writhing in pain..

Baldev went on kicking them,and punching them hard,until they ran away from the scene,as quick as their broken injured body could carry them..

Baldev gave a loud scream of rage after them,his breathing still heavy,and his eyes almost blood shot in anger..

As Veera stood shocked still where he had left her,he slowly turned and walked back towards her..

His face a mask of anguish and concern,and suffering..

He stared at her cold shivering body dripping in the endless downpour..

Regret and guilt gnawed at him,at the woe-be-gone condition she was in,and all due to his stupid rage..His heart nearly stopped as he thought,what her fate would have been tonight if he had not returned on time..

He walked close to her,and stood looking down at her pale shocked face,as she stared at somewhere behind him..

Slowly he raised his hand to touch her pale cold face..

"Veera..?Tu-.."He had touched her face,when suddenly his hand was shoved away by her..

"Mainu chuna maat!!!Meri paas maat ana!!!

[Don't touch me!!!Don't come near me!!!]"She hissed out,and stepped back..

Now as she looked up at him,through the flashes of thunder light he could clearly see the hurt in them and tears pouring from her eyes..His heart squeezed painfully,as he inhaled a staggering breath..

For the first time in his life,he felt shame and guilt and helplessness wash across his tormented soul..His Veera..He had managed to hurt his Veera very badly,he thought with extreme anger at himself..

wow,actually ballu deservers this treatment frm veera,for the 1st time ever i'm feels like slapping him ,how could he abandon her in the dark like this ,really yaar i really wnt veera give some gud dialogs 2 him,i even liked 'dont touch me' 'n'dont come near me'ones,looking 4ward of this type,thax 4 the update
