No, no, Sandhya dear, you must not scold me so !š You have to enjoy that scene for the sheer theatrics, not parse Jodha's assertions in the standard 9 column format!
I agree completely about the way Rajat looked during the freezing in the cold scene. I wrote then that he looked like a matinee idol with whom the camera had fallen in love.
As for the anachronism about Meera, while it need not be taken as if she had passed on, it was clearly out of place. In this context, you would be interested in what I had written on Lashy's A set of caricatures thread, when she had Jodha invoking Meera along with a bunch of assorted deities.
A minor correction to Jodha's opening invocation list. She would not have included Meera.
Meera was a contemporary of hers, and was of course not yet the revered Sant Meera she later became. There is a story that Akbar met her at a temple and gifted her his pearl necklace, which she at once used to adorn her Muralidhar.
But this incident was used as one of the accusations against her in her trial for treason, that she accepted a gift from a
parapurush who was, moreover, an enemy. In the end, she was sentenced to death by poison, but of course it had no effect on her. She then walked to the Krishna temple and became
antardhyana, ie she vanished, leaving behind only her
ektara. That had been gifted to her by the Harijan (not a term used then, of course) saint Sant Ravidas.
Incidentally, Paridhi would make an excellent Meera. Hema Malini was very convincing in Gulzar's film
Meera, which had music by Ravi Shankar, but Paridhi would do even better as she is a better actress than Hema. However, I am sure Meerbai is safe from Ekta , and not even she could infuse that tale with enough masala for 4-500 episodes.

How come jodha talks about meera in past tense? Wasn't meerabai a contemporary of tulsidas tansen and akbar?
