It's good news that they're totally comfortable and are friends. Even if they weren't, what difference would it make anyway? In the end, they work to earn both fame and money.

Well this promotional strategy of actors being friends is very old and GR-Jen have been long enough in the industry to know about it so if he had to follow it they would've done it long back when the controversies started .

They were the first ones or maybe the only ones who were honest enough to accept in the start of the show that they are not friends so I don't think they would do it for promotion now- they've been honest before so we can surely accept that they are saying the truth now too :)
