Is Deepika's Filmfare award well deserved or just hype?

As if Filmfare awards are ever given for best acting.😆 They are a combination of BO, popularity, the character's importance in the film(Vidya over Priyanka). Sonakshi never had a chance to win the trophy because Lootera was a flop. I guess even she knew that. And out of all others, it was Deepika all the way.

Sonakshi's was the better performance, it would have been ideal had she won the Critic's choice but Deepika is a worthy winner of the popular category. Had mixed feelings about RL but all the performances elevated the experience for me- including DP's. So it's not a travesty that she won, same goes for Farhan's win. Now the thing to oppose would be Lootera's absence in the nominations and Dhanush being relegated to best debut. Oh and most importantly Sonam and Shraddha K's nomination for best actress- that just diluted the whole impact of Best Actress category, now that's hype.

As much as I have appreciated Deepika for all her performances in 2013 and she being one of my favorites, I think the critics award for Best Actress could have been given to Sonam for Raanjhanaa or Sonakshi for Lootera. 🤔 If Lootera was a flop, then Sonam could have won in critics category because she was wonderful in Raanjhanaa. 🤔

But otherwise, Deepika totally deserved the Best Actress Award in Popular Category. 😳
