CHAPTER 34

Vickram looked at Sugni and who was staring at him with disbelief shock on her face. He knew what he said was like a bombshell to her. And he was sure that his statement raised more questions than it answered.

He looked down at the picture, at the smiling face of Kuhu, it was his nineteenth birthday, and she just wished him. She was fourteen, young, carefree and full of life. He closed his eyes wondering why was life so cruel sometimes.

"I am sorry..." he herd Sugni say softly as she squeezed his shoulder comfortingly. "I should have left it alone." She mumbled to herself. Feeling bed at having upset him, even though there was a lot she wanted to know, she quelled it Maa Thakur was right the past was the past and she did not want to upset him further

Vickram sighed as he looked at her. "No Sugni it's ok of course you would have questions...truth is our family has had a very long and complicated history and we have learned that looking into the past is not always good." He said as he sighed. "but of course you should know..."

"Thahkur Mallick..." Sugni said as she squeezed his hand. "it's alright. Maaji told me to leave it alone...and I see I should it's..."

"No Sugni... you are apart of this family and there are no secrets from you...and maybe it is a good think you should be aware of...I'll tell you...Just ...come with me..." He said . He got up grabbing a robe that was hanging on the closet door he out it on, as he fixed himself a drink, he opened the balcony door as he went out .

It was a little after midnight , it was cool but not cold in on the hot summers night. Sugni took a seat as he stood looking out on the balcony. He was silant for a while gathering his thoughts on how to begin, as she waited patiently . Finally he started.

"like everything else In Mawhari...out family had a long and deep ties with that place. I might hate it now...but my father loved it, it was his life he was in everything, the village councel , the community development group everything that he thought would help it. He loved the land , farming was his life. And for a while I loved it to. As a young boy listening to him...I wanted to be a part of it all. " He laughed as he shook his head. "You know he was a strange man now thinking about it to the others, for although he was a traditional man who believed in all the village ways , he was also a practical one, thank God. He knew that in order to take things forward education was important, and Mawhari was not much in terms of that, because even though he pushed for it...the others were not as willing and most of his development proposal got voted down, for fear of change more than anything else maybe. He however made sure we got a proper education. My older sister , Uma when people were telling him it's wasted on her as she would get married to another Thakur one day, he said well then she could teach her children, me and Kuhu."

"Shw was much older than you?" Sugni asked remember the older lookin g girl standing in the child hood picture.

"eight years actually, when I five my mother had Kuhu she was somewhat unexpected I think..." He said. Sugni smiled.

"Things were normal with us as a family, we were happy...and then Uma got married, that was the first blow her husband running off with that bedni...She was a strong woman jiji...I always thought...she came home after with Adi..and for a while we all thought she was getting over it. What we did not know was the speculation, the taunts the stares she was receiving form the others in the community it began bothering her and she never told us..." He said his voice low and filled with a sadness, maybe because of the fact that he was only a teenager and not able to do anything to help her. "Then one day...I got a note in school my father telling me to come home...my sister is no more..." His voice cracked as he remembered coming home to find her lying on the floor on that dreadful whilte sheet, little Adi, in all his five year old innocents coming up to Vickram and asking when his mother would get up. It devastated all of us, My mother ,my father..." Vickram shook his head as he recalled Uma's in laws showing up at the funeral to express shame and sorrow for their son's actions, " It was one of the only times I recalled seeing Papa absolutely livid. He warned them to have nothing to do with the family and if ever there son retured he would be dead." He said. As he finished off his drink, and poured himself another one. Sugni swallowed wondering if she should put a stop to this heart breaking horror story.

Her eyes filling with tears wondering what she must have had to endure for her to take such a step, the shame, the feeling of utter failure having her marriage disintegrate before her eyes...while the others took sadistic pleasure in gossiping about her life.

Vickram began pacing on the small balcony, no doubt trying to shake the memories he had so long ago suppressed. As he continued.

"Somehow we settled, and we moved on. Adi was my responsibility from then it was the least I could do for her. Somehow I managed I finish my studies in the city and came back to help Papa. Kuhu was studying. Just as things felt normal again, it got shaken back up... It was the year Kuhu turned eighteen, she came home for vacation. God I was so happy to see her..." He said. " She and Adi were my life, I would not say she made up for JiJi's loss ..but with her around we were always smiling. She was so full of vigor and life." He said Images of his baby sister dancing around him , trying rakhi's on his hand and shamelessly demanding some silly expensive gift that he happily gave her. He laughter, her trying to cook in the Kitchen and Maa Thakur begging Vickram to take her away if they wanted something edible to eat. Her teaching Adi his work with a soft smile, like him seeing their older sister reflected him his mop of dark hair and eyes.

"Vickram..?" Sugni said softly as she came to stand next to him, he had gotton quite lost in his thoughts and stopped pacing.

"Huh..?" He blinked his eyes felt watery.

"It's ok...you don't..." She said holding his hand.

He shook his head, as he held her hand.. "No I got this far...let me finish..." He said almost pleadingly. She nodded, she understood, she opened the can of worms it was better to let it all out than leave it for another time.

This time he sat with her , on the opposite side of the table from her taking a deep breath he continued.

"So she was eighteen and home for vacation...and it was there that she met him...Vijai Singh Thakur. " He said the name with disgust. Sugni looked down at her lap. Even though she unintentionally got mixed up in the middle of this, she still felt a pang of responsibility, even though it was irrational.

They met at a fair...and I guess he charmed her." He scoffed "she was home for only a few weeks but somehow managed to fall madly in love with him. I caught them one day in the temple; he was hugging her. At the time I did not know much about him except in passing. I knew his father from the community meetings, and I did not really like him, he would always have something negative to say whenever Papa brought up anything to do with development. He told everyone that we were trying to suppress the traditions, for some kind of city bred immorality..." He laughed." That was rich , coming form a man who was bidding on Bedni's young enough to be his daughter talking about morality...needless to say we did not see eye to eye. And here was my sister running around with his son." He said again getting that faraway look on his face as he remembered , the argument they had as he dragged her home, the only time he acted out of hand with her. The shock on his parents face as he told them what he saw and even more Shock when Kuhu declared to them all she was in love with him and wanted to marry him. The tension in the once peaceful house, After trying at first to strong arm her into giving up her infatuation, and episodes of her running off to meet with Vijai. "Unable to see her distraught, Maa came to us and said if this was what would make her happy let it be...she already lost one daughter and she could not stand to see the other one like this. So my father gave in and took the proposal to Jwala Singh for his son, he accepted and everyone was happy again.' Vickram said.

"It was after the wedding she changed, I don't know it happened slowly at first she was like any other newly wedded bride, happy glowing. Then she got quite, more reserved ... her visits became rare. " He stopped as he took a breath.

"you know Mawhari...it did not take long for the rumors to start, people started whispering about her being ill treated, of him bringing home bedni's and her being nothing more than some kind of servant to him. We asked her when she did visit...but she denied it, she said she was just busy in her new home, that she was on top of the world. She tried hard to hide it. Sugni, I watched her change in front my eyes from a laughing smiling full of life person, to this shell of a girl, her eyes gone dull, her smile strained...and I knew in my gut all was not well...but despite that I believed her , despite the signs I believed her when she said she was happy . When She told us that everything was fine...I should have known better... Maybe I could have..." He faded of.

"Thakur mallic...No how could you..." Sugni Said as she reached over and held his hand. "Obviously she did not want you to know or was hiding it..."

"I should have insisted...the first time I saw that bruise on her hand...that she said was caused by slamming her hand on the car door...or when he would call her five minutes after she visited to come back home...or."

" NO...I know how you feel...but sometimes...it is hard to prove these things, especially when they would not talk, I don't know why she did not talk..but you could not very well keep her away from her husband if she was saying everything was right...hmm..." She said softly not sure if her words were doing anything to make him feel better. She squeezed his hand consolingly. . He nodded.

"Your right...but then I did see him my self one day...at one of the Thakurs houses. He and his father...disgustingly leering and throwing money at the dancers, drunk and carrying on...and at that moment I knew the rumors were not just rumors. I lost it... and we altercation, I told him that I would kill him for ruining her life... I was mad enough to go to her house and get her...but Maa stopped me. She said if I went there I would make things worse...so she took me home . The next morning before I could go to where she was...she came storming into my house...telling me that I should not have done that. She defended him and his actions..." he looked at Sugni..."She said all Thakurs act like that it was their right. THEIR RIGHT...my sister... the same girl who hated that tradition as bad as I did was not defending it...I was shocked...and when she said she did not want me interfering in her married life ..." He shook his head.. "so I stayed out...and we pretended all was well...until a few months after she had an "accident" She slipped and fell down two flights of stairs...that broke her neck, her arm , her leg and cracked a few ribs." Sugni shuddered as he rattled of her injuries.

"HaaI Sita Miya...did you report it?" She asked.

"how could I? The doctors said It was an accident, some unknown guest they had said she was coming down the stairs with a laden tray of glasses and that she tripped and fell in front of them..Vijai Singh was acting the proper bereaved husband. If I did all I would have done was sound like a mad man. As it was the second blow, both Maa and Papa was not taking the loss well and if I got into any trouble what would they have done. So for peace sake I kept quiet."

"So you left him to get away?" She said... that was unlike Vickram.

"Who said I did? I may not have been able to prove anything...but I knew he would pay. I was going to make sure of that. Fortunately it came earlier than expected, when his father died leaving everything to him. After my her death it hit my father the hardest seeing the end to both of his daughters, and he could not handle it, it took a tole on his health. So I stepped in... and I used that opportunity to do all I could to make Vijai's life hell. I brought out all the lands his father had on mortgage ...I made sure that if he made an offer for an investment... I made a bigger one...there was even a nasty little rumor going around that he had an incurable disease in it was highly contagious...making sure that bedni's and thakurines alike did not want him anywhere near their homes much less bodies. If I saw him anywhere I would do my best to provoke him into a fight that left him all bloodied and battered more times than I could count. I was obsessed with him . Then my father never having recovered fully from the shock left it all to me ...and Maa wanted to leave. She stopped me one day and told me that I was all that was left of her family...and the rate I was going in my obsession to destroy him...I was losing myself, the violence, the plotting , the planning just to destroy him. It would not bring Kuhu back...but she might lose me, she was right I hardly recognized what I was becoming, almost as bad as him. At that point He was almost an outcast, he could never command the respect his father had...so he became a joke. Her words rang true...and so we took a chance and came to the city we were already exporting the crops...and we had some faithful workers, so I finally used my degree in setting up our offices...where we started packaging and marketing our own brands... and also supplying other companies. My father, did not protest...I guess he stopped trusting himself and his decisions...

"I concentrated on my business and putting all that behind us...My parents became everything at that point...So after a couple of Years my mother told me it was time I settled..., I agreed because her her happiness meant a lot to me ...that's when Reva came in...you know how that ended. After Reva left...my father gave up the fight and passed on a few years later...and knowing how much Mawhari meant to him...we moved back...eight years after we left. ..you know the rest...that was when I met you...so much had changed by then, Vijai was no longer a laughing stock he managed to somehow inherit some wealth from somewhere, and build back up his "reputation". He was now a part of the council and leadership group. But I no longer had that burning desire to destroy him, I was no longer obsessed, partly because I had other intrest..." he said looking at her, she smiled slightly remembering that frist year he returned when she met him...

"So although he tried many times to bait me...I never took it. seemed that even though I gave up on him..he was still wanting revenge for me humiliating him even when I blatantly ignored him... until... He faded off.

"The Sardakhi..." She whispered...he nodded.

She knew she was nothing but a pawn that Vijai was playing to hurt Vickram...but she never knew what was the reason behind it. Now it all made sense...him coming there and pleading with him not to hurt her...

They were both quite for a while each lost in their own thoughts. Sugni could not believe that Vickram went through all of that pain and hurt as such a young age He saw so much loss in his life yet h never lost that heart , that humanity...

A light drizzle began falling from the sky, sending them back inside the room. Vickram closed and locked the door. Looking at the bed side clock it was almost two AM...he could not believe so much time had passed.

He turned to look at Sugni who was lying on the bed quietly...she had not said a word since he finished his grim tale. He knew that was lot to take in. He went on the bed as he turned off the light, sleep would probably elude him tonight he knew but he would try. He closed his eyes.

He felt Sugni arms go around him as she rested her head on his shoulder. In a hug of comfort "I love you Vickram..." She said softly. He felt something wet on his neck and realized she was crying.

"Are you crying?...Sugni please don't...it was all a long time ago...It's ok that you asked." He said trying to reassure her , he knew she would feel guilty for bringing all this up.

"No ..no...I am not crying because of that..." She said as she sniffled and wiped her face..

"Then?" He asked hugging her.

"Well maybe a little" ...she said "I mean...I know how hard that was for you...and I am sorry I made you sad..."She said. "But more than that...I have no idea what I did in my last life to get you...but I am lucky."

"Sugni..." He said.

"No ..I mean it ...after when you just told me...you still accepted Shanti...knowing what he did to your sister...no one I know would do that. He certainly would not...I mean he left no opportunity to make it known how much he hated you and your family...and all I was to him was a way to humiliate you..." She said remembering that, and knowing she played a part in causing them more pain.

"Yet after everything...I don't deserve you..." She said.

"No ...Sugni don't say that..." He said "As for Shanti I told you...I could never hold anything against her that he had no control over. Besides She is my daughter, in all the way that matters. I have the papers to prove it.' He said, having officially adopted Shanti as his daughter a few weeks after they got married.

"Whatever history we share...it long before you...and you got caught in the cross fire unwittingly. All I would like is to leave that where it is ...in the past. I don't want to have anything to do with Mawhari...that place has taken more from my family than given...we are better off here. I just hope this temple building project ends soon so we can forget it." He said.

"You're right. I agree. But Thakur Mallick...you are such a strong man...and Maa Thakur...I mean when I had that medical scare with Shanti I thought I was going to go crazy...She had lost so much and still stands so strong."

"True ...Maa is a very strong woman. She survived a lot."

"You all did...I pray to Sita Miya...that all this family gets now is happiness."

"I hope so too."

Hey Vinnie
First of all - thousand apologies I have been very bad at providing comments lately for one reason or another.

The OMG was because I did not see that coming. I had assumed that there was no Kuhu in this story as there was no indication that there was anyone else in the family.

I loved the way you have shown, the strong, obsessive, dangerous side of Vikram. That is what I expected in the show. In MHO a man like that tilts towards obsession only under extreme circumstances (like making the man who caused his sister's death intentionally or unintentionally suffer) being jilted in love by an 18 year old does not count. So well done for better understanding the characters then its creators.

The story has become gripping now. Looking forward to my birthday present tomorrow in the form of a new chapter

Hello birthday girl...
1st of all Happy birthday... It is ok I know you have been busy on your vacation and catching back up at work. But now i hope you are here and will be regularly reviewing .
thank you I am glad you are enjoying my story . Yes I took Vickrams irrational obsessiveness and turned it against his Brother in law... since I really did not see him as the type to be that crazy over a girl that he is willign to destry his own life.
Well I hope you enjoy the rest. the next chapter is a bit light hearted as I had a lot of emo in this one...

CHAPTER 35

"Oh! You are up!...good morning!" Sugni said with a smile the next day as Vickram stretched and opened his eyes turning his head to face her. She was standing at the closet packing away something. Coming over she sat next to him.

"What time is it?" he asked.

"10:45" she replied. Looking at the clock.

"Almost 11. You did not wake me.!" He said sitting up. He was late for the office.

"Relax!" She said. Stopping him.

"You needed the rest...and I know you did not get much sleep last night. I called Chan and told her and told her you were a bit tired, and if there was nothing very important if she could handle things . She said it was ok and I assured her you would call her as soon as you could. " She explained.

"Oh..Ok." he said

"How are you feeling?'

He was quite for a few moments . "I am alright..." He said. Reliving the memories last night was hard, but he would be fine. Now he could just lock it back in the box of the past and leave it there, it was a relief that she knew all there e was to know now.

Sugni looked at him, he still had that tinge of sadness in his eyes, his haunted memories did leave him restless during the night with him tossing and turning. It did take him years to get past those memories and live his life normally. What did she do, dug it all up with her curiosity. NO! She would not let him stay dwelling on it. Form this moment she would not bring it up again.

" Good! Ok Mr. Lazy bones...better get up!" She said as she grabbed his hands and tried pulling him up. ..."Come on get fresh , while I make you breakfast...although it should be lunch na ...look at the time, Don't for get to call Chan, Oh and today Sh...' She stopped , when his phone began ringing.

"Adi?" he said as he looked at the caller ID. "Hello?"

Hey Adi how is it going everything fine?" He asked. Sugni looked at him , then he smiled "That's good they did..hmm so you can start work then?" Pause..."What?!! No no no I did not tell them they could... I said all has to get the approval of Maa...they do not have free reign , these builders na..." He said. Realizing they were talking business and everything seemed fine Sugni got up...

"I am going downstairs " She mouthed and she signed that he should come down when he was done. He nodded as he continued his conversation.

******\\\\\\//////******

Half an hour later Vickram came downstairs to the very quiet house. Not a servant in sight, then he remembered it was Thursday and it was the day they had off. He went into the kitchen to find Sugni in the kitchen stirring something on the stove top. He stood as the door way just looking at her for a few.

She was humming softly to herself and he could just picture the slight smile on her lips, as she moved slightly to whatever song was playing in her head. He could not help but smile, the last five months living with her as man and wife, was the happiest he had been in a long long long time.

There was a peace to his soul that was not there before, Sugni somehow understood him in a way no one else seemed to. Watching her adjust, learn, grow was a joy because she did it all with such whole hardheartedness. There were a few times he knew she felt out of place and awkward, like when he took her to the banquet , but she did handle herself beautifully.

She did have a natural curiosity , about things she did not understand and sometimes it was just fun watching her whether it was driving, learning to use the computer or even a new recipe, she did it all with such flair and fun that her reaction when she did these task successfully was in itself a great reward. He did not think he could ever feel board around her.

And right now watching her in this kitchen, she never looked more beautiful to him. Walking up behind her trying to be as quite as he could he wrapped his arms around her middle, just as she was turning off the stove.

"Do you have any idea how beautiful you look at the moment?" He whispered into her ear as he stood close behind her leaving hardly any space between them.. She gasped.

"Thakur Mallic... what are you doing..."

"Complimenting my very hard working wife..." He said as he kissed her softly on her neck, his hands gently caressing her midriff.

Stop it!..." She said trying to movie his hand away..."breakfast is ready...I'll bring it out to you, go on..."

"for some reason, I am not that hungry any more...at least not for..."

"Shhh! " She said turning her head to give him a stern look..."behave your self this is not the time or place . You know Sh..."

"Shhh..." He said moving his hand to put his finger on her lips ..."It's Thursday...there is no one here but me and you..."he said his hand going under her blouse to caress her skin..."Why waist such a golden moment...not often this house is empty is it..." He s whispered as he kissed behind her ear. Her weak spot. Sugni caught her breath. He was making it hard for her to think.

"No..We..can't...behave..." She said sounding breathless instead of firm.

" Why...? It's my house I am alone with my wife...i don't have to..." he said as he began tickling her ribes.

No..no... Listen... Thakur..." She said between laughter "Stop..stop.."

"Mummy? Daddy?" came a small voice from the door way. Vickram froze for a moment befor removing his hand.

"Shanti is home?" He whipered in her ear

"Hmmhmmm" She mumbled.

"You did not tell me..."

"You did not give me the chance...now explain ..." She whispered looking at him with her eyebrows raised. He had such a comical shocked look on his face Sugni could not help but giggle. She turned her head to look behing Vickram to Shanti who was standing there looking at them curiously, with there backs to her . She stepped out from in front of Vickram who was still frozen.

"You finished playing??"

"Yes ...Can I have cake?" She asked. Sugni smiled and nodded. Relieved she had no awkward questions to answer ,that lasted for a second as her next question was. "What were you doing?

"Uhh...nothing your daddy was just goofing around...see he got up late and missed breakfast."

"Ohh" She said.

" Shanti!...What are you doing home" Vickram finally asked as he turned to face them.

" I got a day off... they are fuming my school.!" She explained.

"Fuming? ...you mean fumigating!" He laughed..

"Yes..that."

"Ok Shanti why don't you go to the table , you can have your lunch before you get the cake ." Sugni said

"but Mom!"

"No arguments...go on...'

After Shanti left,Sugni turned to Vickram who looked at her and let out a big sigh. She folded her arms and looked at him shaking her head. He looked at her contrite.

She burst out laughing..

Why didn't you tell me?"

"Well I was trying to... you do look cute when you are embarrassed." She said.

"If she had come in here...Sheesh..."

"No that would not have happened...it's ok ...forget it...next time listen when I talk Ok."

"Yes Ma'am" he said dutifully.

"Now go on to the tble and take this with you..I ll being the rest." She said handing him a dish.

*****\\\\\/////*****

"did you call the office?" Sugni asked as they were having lunch.

"Yes, nothing that important today, so I told her I would take the day off, thought I'd spend it with you." He said

She smiled..."and Adi?what was that about?" She asked

"Ohh the builders are trying to pull one over on us. They are telling him that I already approved the designs they sketched , when I told them that everything has to be on maa's specifications. They probably don't want to redo it or think she is being difficult.' He said

That is not right.."

"Hmm I know Adi will see about them he knows how to handle them ..he just wanted to make sure I did not tell them that..."

"So Shanti..." Vickram said to the little girl who was picking at her food, not really interested in the vegetables more than the cake she wanted.

"Yes?'

"I was thinking since you and I are both home...why don't we go somewhere...hmm how about that?" he asked

"Really?" She said her eyes lighting up

"Sure ... there is a new play park recently opened...or there is the zoo..."

the ZOO..the ZOOO..." She said excitedly.

"Ok the zoo it is ... but first you got to finish all your lunch... and you better hurry!'

Without a word of protest she started eating her food with gusto.

"Wow ...so that's how you do it huh?" Sugni asked. He nodded and grinned.

Two weeks later:

Sugni stretched out on her bed letting out a tired sigh. She had an extra long day.

"Tired?' Vickram asked looking at her. she nodded.

"Ohh my God ...those kids are something else...where do they get the energy?" She asked.

Finally Shanti was on her summer break from school, and finally Sugni had some company at home. Shanti was an easy going child. But today she was invited to one of her class mates birthday party, and Sugni went with her, having to travel since her car broke down and wait for Vickram to pick her up.

It gave her a chance to interact with some of the other young mothers and get to know them more, instead of just in passing. And she had to admit she did have a good time . Listening to them swap stories of their kids and coping with mother hood.

One particular young girl had a baby a couple of months old, and they all took turns oohing and ahhing over it, while the mother herself dozed off form sheer exhaustion of handling three small kids. She did have fun though.

"Yes they do have an excess of energy..." he smiled, he sighed looking at the ceiling.

"What is it?" Sugni asked him

"Hmm?"

"what are you thinking?... I mean...I can see the wheels..." She said looking at him.

"It's nothing ...it's silly..." He said brushing it off.

"Tell me..."

To her amazement his cheeks got a tinge of red on them... was he embarrassed?

He then looked at her.

"Well ...when I came to pick you up...you were holding this little baby in your arms, smiling...and I don't know it kinda stuck, you looked beautiful..." He said

"What are you saying?" She whispered, for some reason she could not speak louder.

" Just that...I'd like to have that with you...you one of our own"

"Thakur Mallick?" She said not sure how to respond to that as it came out of the blue.

"I know ...I know we just got married...and I know you might want some more time...but I would live that someday, before I am too old to enjoy it.

"You are not old..." she said.

"I know...but you know what I mean..." Sugni looked at him. He never mentioned his age before between them. In truth, she never saw it as an issue. As for children, she never really thought about it, as she had Shanti.

But of course he would want some kids of his own, and he deserved it.

Sugni turned to face him, as she moved her hand to caress his face.

"Thakur Mallick ...you are a great father. You did a wonderful job with Adi and Shanti adores you." She said. "And you know what...I would love nothing more than to give you that...to share that with you. So if it's what you want...I am ready when you are." She said .

"Really...I mean won't you like to wait?" He asked.

Not really...I already know I am in this for life...I love you...you love me...so there is not much to think about..." She said , as he smiled leaning forward to kiss her passionately...

"Ahhh I do have one request though..." She said as she pulled away from him.

"What?"

"Can we leave the baby making thing...until tomorrow...I am really tired." She said .

He laughed. " Of course ..." He said as he hugged her. She rested her head on his chest as she fell asleep within minutes.

In the still of the night a few hours after they were awakened by the shrill ringing of the phone.

Vickram looked at the caller ID and a feeling of dread went through him as he saw Amrita's number flashing on the screen. Why was she calling him this late. No good news ever came at this hour.

"Amrita what's wrong?'" He asked .

"M-Mamaji...Mamaji..." She stuttered.

"Amrita...are you crying ...calm down...what happened ?'' He asked

"Adi...Maamiji Adi..."

What's wrog with Aditya?' he asked. Sitting up and turning on the light.

"They aa-attacked him...he-he he is unconscious...Maamji please we need you here...please..."
