I think this is the only forum where Ekta Kapoor is being defended on IF...everywhere else shes being ripped to pieces for the garbage that she shows in her serials!

I was just reading the comments on her new show being launched on SP and I was cracking up at those comments!

Thats exactly the problem with Ekta...she begins her shows very well but about 100 episodes later everything goes haywire!

And of course we viewers are justified in blaming Ekta because ultimately shes the one who finalizes the storyline, so all the illogical nonsense that we are watching in PR is all due to her "brainwaves" 😆

So heres the whole picture, she doesnt let actors quit her nonsensical shows, but makes their tracks even more crappier than before! But still shes not supposed to be at fault! 😆

Pallavi, first of all, I wish you wouldn't laugh at my opinions. It's plain rude. I have already said we clearly don't agree on this and we can agree to disagree peacefully. There is no reason to mock at me, especially when you very clearly haven't got the point of what I am trying to say.

I'm sorry, but you are putting words into my mouth and making out my opinions to be something they are not! Please read my posts again!

I have NEVER defended Ekta for her pathetic storylines. WHERE in my whole post have I defended her for her storylines? Everyone on the forum knows how much I have bashed Ekta time and again. In fact NO ONE on this thread or this forum has defended Ekta for crappy tracks.

I didn't even say she is NOT at fault or that actors should not quit her shows or that she is not to be blamed for giving them crappy tracks. I have said it more than once that Ashvik or any actors have full rights to walk out if they are not happy with their crappy tracks. Heck I have been PRAYING for Ankita to walk out of this show since a long time! I have already said she blacklists actors when they quit her shows and in the past when she was more successful she has ruined careers of actors.

BUT I also stand by my view that I don't think it is right to blame JUST Zee or Ekta for 'not letting the actors go' when it is the actors who have taken the CHOICE to stay in the show for as long as they want to for reasons best known to them- not wanting to break contracts and risk relations, not wanting to take risks by looking for work outside with other PH's, more money WHATEVER! And this applies to all the actors, be it Ankita or Ashvik or Mri, who continued the show for reasons of their own. It is ultimately for them to decide what choice to make cos Zee or Ekta will never want to let their actors go and blaming them beyond a point is useless- you cannot expect the whole world to change for your convenience or for what you think is right, the world is not fair all the time. Ekta cannot legally attack someone if they break their contracts by serving notice period honestly- other actors have also quit PR before. It is upto the actors to weigh all options and make a decision eventually for their own good. Rather than keeping unrealistic expectations from Zee TV and Ekta to be saints, is it not better to hope for the actors to walk out, as they are the ones who have the ultimate say in this regard? THIS si what I have said throughout cos Ekta and Zee get blamed wayyy more than they deserve to in this forum in THIS matter only. On no other issue have I defended Ekta.

If you don't agree with my opinions or don't see eye to eye in the matter, please agree to disagree respectfully- something which I have already said in my previous post. There is really no need to mock anyone's opinions. It makes one lose interest in the discussion. Replied back only to clear my stand on the issue cos my opinions were being seriously misinterpreted.

If Ekta makes these presently crappy serials like PR and BALH and finalizes the horribly nonsensical tracks then why should we not blame her? If Zee misuses the actors, makes them perform at every functions yet doesnt nominate them even though they are the most deserving and popular couple at present, why wont we blame Zee?

When PR started, it was known that it would end some day. So why worry? Im liking the present track and actors and will enjoy it as long as it lasts.
Just like every channel uses its actors, the actors also used the channel to get popular. So it is give and take. And im sure it is written in every actors contracts.The channel has existed much longer than any of the actors and will continue to do so.
Ekta is known for her type of serials with twists and leaps and PR is that serial with which she made a successful comeback to TV . She is not putting a gun to any actors head to act in them but they are obviously bound by contracts which they have signed in a fully conscious condition.
She does not force anyone to watch her serials . If they dont hold viewers interest, they will stop watching.As many serials have failed despite having star actors.
Since PR is working for me now , i will watch it. And i am not anybody's victim.

Of course anybody will blame Ekta and Zee and that is totally justified!

That is my opinion and also 80% of IF members will agree with me, where Ekta and her shows are concerned!

Best and most apt comment I read so far: Ekta's Midas touch is gone, all her recent shows have not done well because Ekta is still living in the previous decade, whereas the audience has moved on!

Shes still stuck in kitchen politics, negative characters, separations and leaps, multiple marriages and kids...her shows are in a time warp. Viewers tastes have changed but she refuses to change!

If we dont blame the producers for their bad product, then who else shd we blame? As for actors walking out of her shows, how many have we seen doing that so far from all the shows she has made so far?

PR is not the only show shes producing or has produced!

@bold: And you mean to say that the current top shows which are not produced by Ekta are NOT stuck in these very SAME things?😆😆...Kitchen politics is there in EVERY top show on TV these days...Ekta pioneered this stuff and now others have jumped on to the bandwagon and are making the same stuff...they just might not be as miserly as her budget-wise, that's about it😆...Please give me an example of ONE top show that DOESN'T have kitchen politics...I'm most curious to know.

Ekta shows are regressive and asinine in many ways, completely true...but the rest of the fare on TV isn't any better either...


And at the end of the day it's FACT that Ankita, Ashvik and all these PR actors owe their popularity to this very show...whatever they manage to do beyond it remains to be seen...and I'm not talking reality shows...it's very VERY tough to get another good fiction show after the first one that gets you fame and popularity...and that is why these ppl end up getting "persuaded" by Ekta.



On topic: I think it's good if the show ends...they really have dragged it on quite long...the original spark is long gone.
