MUMBAI: The first trailer of Maneesh Sharma's 'Shuddh Desi Romance', starring Sushant Singh Rajput, Parineeti Chopra and newcomer Vaani Kapoor, has certainly piqued our curiosity. The 'desi' element is intact, while the romance brews strong and steady, between Sushant and his two lovely leading ladies.

The trailer opens with the three lead characters, Raghu (Rajput), Gayatri (Chopra) and Tara (Kapoor) speaking about their respective love lives. Set in Jaipur, the 'Pink City', 'Shuddh Desi Romance' looks to be a refreshing new romantic comedy film, centered on the reality of relationships in small-towns.

"It's not about love, it's not about commitment, it's about what comes after love… and before commitment!" reads the refrain, pretty much spelling out the film's USP.

What best sums up the relationship conundrum depicted in the film is perhaps Rishi Kapoor's character speaking to Sushant Singh: "Tum log bhaagte bahut ho! Pehle ek doosre ke peeche bhaagte ho, phir ek doosre se door bhaagte ho!" (You guys run a lot! First behind each other, then away from each other!)

A riot of colour, celebration and typical elements of a YRF entertainer are also glimpsed in this bright, colourful, 'shuddh desi ghee' trailer.
