New Delhi, July 11 (IANS) The two-minutes and 28 seconds long trailer of "Shuddh Desi Romance", which came out Thursday, reflects new age romance and changing definition of relationship among young generation, who have become bolder and daring.

In the trailer, the protagonists of the film, Raghu and Gayatri, played by Sushant Singh Rajput and Parineeti Chopra, openly discuss virginity and live-in relationships.

The characters have bold introductions.

While Sushant's character points out that he's not looking for friendship or brotherhood, Parineeti, clad in traditional wear, is seen surreptitiously smoking in a washroom. She openly admits about her past affairs.

The newbie Vaani Kapoor, also seen in a desi avatar, talks about courage while kissing.

The movie, being made under Yash Raj Films (YRF), is set to release Sep 13. It also features actor Rishi Kapoor.

Like several other Yash Raj Films trailers, Shuddh Desi Romance makes for a goodlooking promo – from Sushant's Singh's boyish grin to the kitschy illustrations in pop colours introducing the characters, it rocks in the looks department. Add to that a spunky Parineeti Sharma and unabashedly corny dialogues – you get a winner of a trailer in hand.

The new trailer of Maneesh Sharma's film comes close on the heels of three other dialogue-less ones which introduced the three primary characters to the tunes of the popular Doordarshan song Ek Chiriya, Anek Chiriya.

This trailer gives us a better idea of what the film might be about. Going by the exchanges, it seems that Shuddh Desi Romance is about the confusing lines between love, attraction and infatuation.

Parineeti Chopra plays her spunky self while Sushant Singh Rajput tries his hand at a character very different from his Kai Po Che debut one. His character Raghu seems to be that of a street-smart small town boy who makes no bones about the compulsions of his hormones. Debutante Vaani Kapur as Taraa holds her own against the two looking every bit the stunning Indian middle class girl acutely conscious of her own charms and unapologetic about her sexuality.

From the funny dialogues to the small town setting, the film is a quintessential Maneesh Sharma one. Here's hoping the film is as entertaining as its trailer.

Haha the trailer was good! Seems like a fun movie. And I liked the way it ended with Rishi Kapoor and Raghu's scene. Looks like Rishi Kapoor is the gali wale uncle/bandmaster in whom Raghu confides.

Guess the main story is about the choice Raghu makes between attraction/live in relationship and lovvve, maybe cos he develops an attachment with Gayatri after living in with her. Interesting! Am hoping it will be a refreshing take and digestible as well.
