My dear,
What can I say but that I am flattered? Thank you so much for such kind words.
Apart from what I wrote in response to the opening post, which I have since edited to include something about the very different responses in large parts of the forum to Soham and to Ovi; you might like to look it up, and I would look forward to your answer to the question I have posedthere = there are some other aspects of Purvi that have always disturbed me.
As I wrote elsewhere recently, in response to an anguished appeal from a young member who loves Arjun-Purvi, I do believe, and have always thought, that Purvi never loved Arjun anywhere near as much as he loved her. For him, she was the beginning and the end of his existence. He loved her madly then, and he does the same now, within the limitations of the social set up, and looks ridiculous in the process. He and Ovi should have got a divorce after that slap fest at the party before Purvi pushed off to Kolkata,. but no, he had to jump thru the hoop Purvi held up for him. So, there is not question of his not being still besotted with Purvi, the chump.
For her, as Jyothi once set out in a very funny post, he came in at about No.11 i n her priority list, after Archana, Manav, Sulochana, Ovi, Soham, and perhaps Teju and a couple of others as well. She would have given him up for any of the people on this list, and in the case at hand, it was Archana, or so she thought. To my mind, this does not make it laudable, it merely looks both stupid and selfish. She did not ask Arjun before she sold him to Ovi; she conned him into coming to that hilltop, and then used all her powers over him to bludgeon him emotionally into marrying Ovi. Agreed, he was an idiot to go along with it, but the main fault was hers.
This is not love, not for me, and I cannot forgive her for what she did to Arjun. So I have no use for all the folk who justify what she did as tyaag. What it was is human sacrifice. Of Arjun.
Now, though it is not here a question of love in any degree on her side, she is doing exactly the same with Onir, a man to whom she can never repay what she owes him, a man who has stood by her, and still stands by her, whatever the situation and whatever the cost to himself. But Purvi does not seem to have the slightest concern for what might happen to her legally wedded husband's highly regarded career because of what she has made him do.
Purviis 'like that only'. As I always say, for her there are only 2 categories of persons: those for whom she will do anything - her mother, her aaji, her Manav baba, Ovi, Soham, and perhaps Teju - and those to whom she will do anything to protect the interests of the first group - and that is the two I like best, Arjun and Onir.
She will never stand by any man, lover or husband, and any man who has the misfortune to fall in love with her had better understand that and accept it, or run as fast as he can in the opposite direction. Interestingly enough, she has some Fevikwik like magi c, for both of them stay stuck fast to her whatever the damage to them!
And the strange thing is that not one of those idolising Purvi even bother to think of such a character defect. Not that it would bother Onir even if he ended up in jail. Given the current level of his blind obsession with her, even if he is jailed (though, strangely enough, Mittal seems to have no idea of trying to reopen the case against him), I am sure he will act like the old Bolsheviks did when they were arrested and jailed by Stalin during the post-Lenin purges of the Old Guard in the Party. They could never believe that it was Stalin who had ordered their incarceration, and they used to write Long Live Comrade Stalin! on the walls of their cells, and in their blood. Onir will do the same, but not, I hope, in blood!😉
Well, this is long enough to please you, but I do hope it makes sense as well!😉
