Ovi was wronged, I think I finally get her.

I kind of liked Ovi and Teju from the beginning, mainly because they were complicated characters. They are not evil like Punni where they simply want to cause havoc, and they are not good like Purvi, Archana and the other tv sati savitris. Their characters have room for growth. I always love characters like those because it feels like a journey with them as you don't know where they will go. I already know where characters like Punni and Purvi will go from the day they are introduced. I have seen it a billion times.

The part I used to dislike about Ovi was that I found her a brat, I was like here goes another girl who thinks the world is in her way, and is plotting against her to ruin her happiness. I also hated her infatuation with Arjun. It made no sense to me, so I just pretended that she was somewhat mentally ill. Today I really felt like that girl grew up and she finally made a bit more sense to me. I liked the fact that they showed Arjun and Ovi's past. I feel like people in this forum always forget this fact that they were best friends. Most people act like Arjun was forced to marry some strange rich girl, when that is not the case. He married the girl he was friends with all his life. I believe they called them "inseparable" which means unable to be separated for those who do not understand the true meaning of this.

Arjun wronged Ovi, Arjun completely wronged Ovi. People constantly complain how Ovi wronged ArVi and Purvi wronged Arjun but she was the one who was wronged first. I can't believe I am actually writing about this because I feel the people in this forum are honestly too young and naive to understand the situation. (Kind of like Ovi? Only have one way of seeing this. Not realistic, just stubborn)

Arjun had every right to not love Ovi and love Purvi instead. But he should've respected the girl he has known all his life. He should've told her that he loved someone else. What kind of a "BEST" friend are you if you can't be honest with your friend? Ovi loved Arjun practically all her life, it's funny because people in the forum act like Arjun and Purvi can never get over each other but when it comes to Ovi's love that is something she can move on from. Ovi is stubborn, she did not know how to get over it. She thought the guy she loved all her life probably felt the same way about her too. It happens in life. There are many times in life where we think only if that girl did not exist, the guy would eventually love me. Of course we do not become psychotic but that feeling is there. For Ovi, the spoiled brat, it was stronger.

There are people who sympathize with Purvi and Arjun saying they felt guilty and did not want to hurt Ovi. Try seeing it from Ovi's perspective. Your best friend and the love of your life have a thing and they hide it from you. Not only that, but the poor girl actually shared all the stuff with Purvi, she told Purvi that she was worried about. From her point of view Purvi completely stabbed her in the back, and I think any of us would feel the same way. They wronged her there too.

Then they wronged her again when Arjun and Purvi decided to get married and invitations came to Ovi's house. Purvi was not pregnant, there was no reason to get married asap. They did not think of Ovi's heartbreak, or her state at all when they decided to get married. They should've given Ovi time to deal with this. Some people say well why? they were in love, why should they think of Ovi. Because Ovi was Arjun's BEST FRIEND, and OVI is Purvi's SISTER/friend. They both claimed to care about her. Isn't that the reason they could not tell Ovi the truth about their love? Because they did not want to hurt her? They should've cared and given Ovi the time to move on before rubbing salt on her wound. Which one of them actually took the time to make sure she is okay? Why the double standard in caring for her. You care too much to tell her the truth, but you don't care once she knows the truth?

People here are so mad at Ovi. No matter what happens to her it is never bad enough because she married a guy who loved someone else. Think back to those episodes. She pleaded, and begged Purvi. She was planning to kill herself quietly. This was not the kind where you say hey I will kill myself if you don't give me Arjun, this was if I don't have Arjun, then I don't have anything else to live for. At NO POINT did she force either of them. Begging is different than forcing. Since some of you do not know what pleading or begging is, begging is to ask someone for something as charity. Purvi and Arjun could have walked away from her offer and she would've quietly ruined herself. She is naive, jealous, possessive, stubborn, extremely stupid but she is not evil. She did not even have a backup plan to destroy Purvi like other grey character on tv. She is always honest with both him and Purvi. When she felt something was wrong she would bring it our openly. Punni tried really hard to destroy Purvi with Ovi's help but Ovi always came back to liking Purvi. She doesn't have the evil bones in her body to carry on long evil plots. She never held a grudge against Purvi for too long. She is just an idiot and hot headed who would burst too often.

Then Arjun wronged her throughout the marriage. On one hand he asked Ovi to trust him, got mad when she didn't, and on another he told Purvi he can't move on from her. Ovi got betrayed by Arjun there. Arjun never loved her. Which is somewhat understandable. But the way he treated her, and still treats her. He rarely says anything nice to her, he said nice things but they were somehow all related to the baby. He forgot their wedding anniversary, no matter how badly she needs him he is busy in meetings. To top that of he even hit her! He can't love her but he can at least care for her, he can at least be a good companion, a good friend. But he was none of those things. Ovi's feelings for him matured in the relationship. She was infatuated first, then she was angry at him during the first few months of pregnancy, but she came to love him like a wife. Even when she was angry and bitter she never forced herself on him like those other annoying villain wives of tv. She respected his image and kept all her inner turmoil inside. Toward the end of her pregnancy until now she loved him. She respected him, and she trusted him.

The whole baby issue is just sad. I think Purvi has a good heart. She really thought it would be best for Arjun, Ovi and Pari to give away Pari. I understand her for that and feel so sad for what she went through. But for Ovi, her child is dead, and once again she is betrayed by the two people who she trusted. That hurts!! No matter what Arjun or Purvi's intentions were Ovi was wronged again! She is a mother. My mother still feels sad about a baby she lost 10 years ago. And here is a mother who did not even get to see or say goodbye to her child. To top that off, she finds out the baby she has been bestowing all her love upon is actually her husband and her sister's child. People have twisted and turned this issue to an issue about premarital sex. That must hurt Ovi also but she is not going crazy about that. She is crying over her present. For the longest time we had believed Arjun was a toy to Ovi. She did not really love him. For the first time I feel she has truly loved him. She was an idiot, a fool to believe she could win him over if she only got him away from Purvi. She tried to win him over. She even thought this baby was a way to fix their relationship. She wanted his love, she did not want him as her possession. She gave him everything, and finally today when she realized this man could never love her, not just as a husband but as a friend also she broke away everything. This was not just a wife who broke the marriage, I felt this was the girl in Arjun's life who never once left her side. In the childhood video Arjun falls and Ovi runs to him and makes sure he is not hurt. Today when Arjun was asked to say something about his feelings he says Ovi has always been by his side in life. She has always genuinely been there for him, and today she finally left him. If articles are correct Arjun has lost her completely because this is not some girl who wanted his name, she wanted his love, so she will leave his life completely.

@ Mannisha - I am sorry you don't get her character. There is a reason the main tv characters in Indian shows are completely black and white two dimensional. They are just caricatures. Most people do not wish to understand, or analyze feelings. They want simple entertainment.

If you are one of these people then it is perfectly fine! Nothing against it. TV runs on you guys. Some of us just enjoy characters with more layers.

As for India serials, I rarely watch them because of the pathetic serialisation. I have stopped watching PR and simply read the updates.
