But i will say something about the term 'brat' that the forum used to describe Ovi . She was described as spoilt and bratty . I never saw her that way ...and i don't say this coz i defend her but simply coz she never fitted the description of a brat for me at least .

What is bratty ? Insisting in getting your way each time . She did not fit that description . I did not see a single scene in Canada where she inconvenienced others by insisting on her way . All she was interested in was make up like most teenaged girls . She loved looking beautiful . I would not call that bratty .

Neither would i say she went after Arjun coz she was bratty , spoilt and regarded him as a prized toy . She went after Arjun because she loved him the most , that love had even destroyed her ego and self respect , she wanted him and could not bear the thought of losing him as he was the only constant factor in her life besides her family ...imagine , a girl with abandonment issues , getting attached to the family friend and finding comfort in that .

As u rightly pointed out , she begged . Not a bratty action . Beyond self repect and ego , she begged for her Arjun .

She was raised with a silver spoon in her mouth . Those were the circumstances in which she was born . Each one is used to a certain standard of living depending on the circumstances in which he or she is born . Those who r rich r used to going in AC cars . Those who r middle class r used to travelling by local trains . Those who r below the poverty line find even buying that ticket of a local train a big deal . So r those middle class who travel with a first class pass by trains termed as 'bratty ' ?

The financial circumstances in which u r born cannot be helped by u and cannot qualify u as bratty . A princess cannot help it if she is born a princess . Thats simply the way it is .

Expecting all things to be ur way is bratty . Ovi begged for Arjun , but adjusted in a chawl life after being raised with butlers in Canada . A girl used to her own room lived in cramped spaces , shared one bathroom with all and was ok with less water as the chawl faces a water problem . She asked how her hotel was when Arjun told her to fly to Kolkata bt frankly , don't we all do it ? Don't we all check to see if our living accomodatons will be suitable before going for vacations ?

She apologises for each mistake she does as an after thought ...do bratty people do it ? Be it snapping , be it misunderstanding ...she apologises . Not a bratty trait .

Now i will tell what i found as extreme brattiness in this serial and from whom i found it .

I found it from the Holy Trinity ...Sulochana , Archana and Purvi . Purvi insists everything should be according to her way only all the time . When she decides on something it must be according to her way only . If she has decided to give Arjun up Arjun MUST comply . He MUST fall in with her in line , two hoots for his emotions . To date this attitude has continued . She does not care what others will feel , she wants it means she wants it .

Archana asked Damodar on the phone after 18 yrs , do even u think i did a mistake ? Her obstinate self righteousness was amazing . Woman u lost ur family after doing a false court case on ur husband and losing ur son due to stubborn stupidity and ur still saying its not ur mistake ? Then what , it was others mistake ? Or were they pagal ? Extreme brattiness in my opinion .

Sulochana , the oldest member of the Trinity is the brattiest of them all . She sulks and sulks if things don't go her way and was ok with her silly daughter stripping and depriving her grandchildren of all their saving funds to buy her her dream house . What dreams ? At that age , renunciation sets in , people r mentally prepared to moving out or moving in with anything that suits their conveniences . But Sulochana was pouting about her house of dreams and Archana was determined that she would change that pout in a smile and so

the finances of the kids were emptied .

I was apalled at this bratty behaviour .

It is not Ovi who regarded Arjun as a prized toy . She regarded him as a prized catch . She gave him importance , undue importance , i felt . She wanted him in the deal . It was Purvi who gave him up like a toy . And her brattiness continues to date .

Brilliant Post! Appreciate it. Though ArVi's intentions are good, still Ovi was wronged.

I LOVE this post. It perfectly sums up what we feel about Ovi. Unlike many, I didnt watch the parts when Arjun-Purvi-Ovi triangle was going on pre-marriage, but it cant be stressed that she made a harebrained 'deal'. It cant even be called that because all she did was beg and plead ( as you say)

i think my personal character is exactly like Ovi's. i can totally understand her!!An dtrust me i have reacted the same way to certain situations in my personal life. I can be tht brat, i can be tht loving and caring person, and i can also misunderstand situations.
