I could've had the two most important loves of my life with me; you
Everyone will forget completely that an Arjun loved a Purvi and a Purvi
loved an Arjun.
he little light that was on the terrace dimmed as the figure in front her blocked the little light . "Aā¦Aā¦Ar-Arjun?"
She moved an inch or two back. "What are you doing here? Why are you here?"
_ "Rude much? You could have said hello you know"
She looked down and realized she was being a little rude. Maybe he was here just because- it didn't matter to her anyways.
"Uh⦠you .. you um, came to my wedding ā¦"
_"How could i not? You came to my wedding" His words pierced her insides.
"Oh, hmm, well, how's life? Heard you live in London now?"
He laughed a little, "Life's well Purvi. London's great. It's always raining over there- was the only witness of the major part of my life, and now I decided to stick with it"
She knew exactly what 'major part' of life he was talking about; but it was true. And like before, today the two stood together, even if they were apart, and the only witness was the rain.
"Oh, i see. Um, do you, uh ⦠live alone in London? Like, does DK uncle stay-"
"No. I live by myself. You see, after being dumped the first time by my fiance, i was dumped by my wife too." Arjun chuckled.
Purvi was taken aback. What was he talking about? What did Ovi do?
"What do you mean?"
_ "I got stuck between two sisters. One loved me and left. The other was obsessed for a while and left me. But you know, life moves on, right? You're doing so too."
Purvi looked down once more. Ovi left Arjun? What on earth?
_"You must be excited right Purvi? It's your wedding day! Must say, you look beautiful. Rohan's a lucky man. He's a long time best friend right? The lad's good. He'll keep you happy ā¦. I'm sure"
The more Arjun tried to keep a normal conversation, the harder it became. He tried to suppress his feelings, but the more he talked about the future of his love, the higher his feelings rose.
"Arjun⦠I'm ⦠I'm sorry" Sounds of trumpets and drums went on full swing and the girls downstairs ran to the baraat with their umbrellas. Thunder struck, and the rain fell even harder at this moment. The two became drenched and Arjun just gaped.
"Im sorry Arjun. I, I ruined both of our lives. I was wrong. I wasn't thinking. I was wrong to do that to you."
Arjun stepped closer, and Purvi stepped back again.
"But you know what, you're stupid too." Arjun's eyes widened. She's still crazy.
"Why'd you listen to me?"
_ "Because I love you Purvi"
"That's the problem! Why do you love me! Im not worth it Arjun. That love that you have for me has ruined us. There is no us anymore. Look where we stand now! Why did you love me so much that you listened just because I said so?"
He didn't know how to control the girl- she was in hysterics. This was not good, especially on her wedding day.
_"Purvi, whatever's happened has happened. We're both to blame. You thought you could deal without me, and i thought i could be the perfect prince and heed your words. But we're both wrong. And we just have to accept it."
"Arjun, you know things won't be the same, but, why'd you come here? Doesn't it hurt you?"
_"I know. I just wanted to see if my love was going to be happy, and Rohan is a good guy. Yes it does hurt me Purvi. It hurts a lot, but the the question is, doesn't it hurt you too?"
"Even if it does, it doesn't change anything." She sighed, "Arjun, here's your ring. I havent taken it off ever since, but now i cant keep it anymore. Please take it."
_"So I should i give you mine too?" Arjun waved his left hand in front of her.
Pools formed in her eyes and she shook er head. "No, keep both." She handed him the ring and moved back.
_"I'll always love you Purvi, no matter what"
"I have to go, the groom is here"
She turned around and walked to the stairs that led to her room. He's only here to see me one last time. To just see if I'll be happy. How do I tell him that I don't even know what's going on myself.
The lights on the terrace began to dim again and Purvi turned around. Holding the bottom of her skirt and being careful not to slip on the wet concrete floor, she hugged him from the back.
"I love you so much Arjun. I can't live without you. I know it's late and Im getting married, but i won't be able to give the same door to Rohan. I won't have that strength left in me. Ar-Arjun? Arā¦"
Purvi's eyes widened.
