Manav also grew up in a chawl . He must have seen many boys smoking , his own father drank but Manav never had any vices . The 3 children grew up not touching alcohol or cigarettes . They were poor but really sanskaari not the false sanskaars that Sulo boasts of .
Reason ? Savita and Kaka had this quality in their character . While Savita fended for them outside and kept Vat Pournima vrats for an alcoholic husband , Kaka was the one the children looked up to . His character was one of rectitude . Manav became exactly like kaka .
Vandu if one notes became exactly like her mother ...she believed marraiges are for life , even if the husband is unworthy . She stuck in a marraige bearing marital rape , drunken rages , domestic abuse coz her mother had stuck the same way with an useless alcoholic husband .
Sachin if u notice had imbibed some of the not so good qualities of Savita . Lying , attraction for the good life etc . He was very much like his mother in some ways . He changed for the better when he met Shravani but he was definitely no Manav .
Soham on the other hand had a gunda for his father and such socialising since childhood . His mother was not one who kept vrats but a kept woman who only protested weakly against crimes . She never took a strong stand against them coz she herself had latched knowingly to a criminal as she herself had consciously done a crime .
I am not saying all the children of an unstable environment turn out to be gundas . I am saying that if both the parents are faulty the chances that the child emulates them are 95 % . Sure 5 % grow up differently but then those are the exceptions .
Teju is a highly intelligent girl . She should give blood not out of sibling love but out of humanity and she should be able to objectively foresee what her parents caught in the throes of an emotional storm cannot ...that life long habits r hard to go , it is very tragic that he had this kind of upbringing but the fact remains that he already has become a gunda and this will only endanger their family . This talk of improving him by Archana is something she should not agree with . Nobody suddenly improves that way . I expect this objectivity in Teju . Archana simply does not have it . If she had been so foresighted she would never have let her sister run off with her child .
Teju should also know one thing ...things could not have been any other way . While she should be wary of him she should not go to extremes and hate him . She even hated her grandmother who raised her exactly the same way . She never bothered to find out why her grandma distrusted Archana and the Karanjkars so much . She knew nothing of the history yet she was quick to make judgements and throw her out from her emotions .
Same with Soham . While being wary of his gunda ways she should also have this natural curiosity about her blood sibling's circumstances . She has once more pronounced judgement that she hates him and she has no wish to know the whys .
Ovi 's top priority is only and only Arjun . Not Archana , not Soham . She traded Archana's happiness for Arjun...she accepted her without really liking her for him . She has no wish , time or energy to be a sister to someone who shot the love of her life twice . Its only and only Arjun for Ovi .
Arjun is an outsider and he has been shot twice by this gunda . I can understand his reservations .
Purvi's beliefs in his soul are childish and dramatic . She knows nothing of his background ...for all she knows he might be an international drug dealer with a dead soul .
Arjun took two bullets for her and she does not care for them , takes him for granted and instead warns him that she won't tolerate her brother being called a gunda .
But thats what he is ...a gunda . What will Arjun call him then ...a senator ? Not only has she dumped him and rubbed salt on his wounds by joining a rival company but she dares to lecture him about opining differently . He is not a eunuch you know . It is my opinion that Arjun should slap her before dumping her emotionally .
I find currently Soham and Ovi the most interesting characters in PR .
I find the relationship between Jagya and Nandu the high point in BV . Nandu brings out the softness in the anti hero's personality that nobody else does . Yes he is using the child but he also has feelings for him .
