umi it means only one thing

Archu believes that Sulo is a devi and that her words come true .

Devi Sulo has only installed this in Archu's head .

I completely agreed with Manju ...though i wish she had said that Sulo is the one who gave birth to 4 big namoonas and is the biggest namoona herself .

Di,Personally I too Dont Like Manju. She is worst character for Me as she is the sole Reason for the beginning tragedy and still has not got her dues.

But the Cvs have written such stories and tracks so far that I myself enjoyed seeing her talking today and Nodded with the dialogues of hers...πŸ˜†, She was right, as if its not enough that what the yhad gone for so far, she has to shed tears for a Gunda too. for her Point,Its correct only na and yes where the sanskaar went now. varsha herself was from that Sanskaari family, she spoiled hers and Soham's too.

Dear kools,

I agree with you completely about a life-changing event that can transform even a villain into the opposite.

Besides Angulimala, whose story I knew, and Ajamila, about whom I did not know (thanks for that), there is also Ratnakara/Valmiki, whom you have mentioned as well. For those who might not be familiar with his story, Ratnakara was a robber and a murderer. He was, if I remember it correctly, told by Narada, whom he was preparing to rob and kill, and to whom he explained that he was doing it all for his family, to find out if his family members would be prepared to share the sins he was thus accumulating.

When he asked them about this, his parents refused indignantly, telling him that he would need first to repay his debt to them for giving him life and then raising him. His wife said that as his ardhangini, it was her duty to share in all the good and bad things that happened to him, but for one exception. When he married her, he had promised to provide for her, and whatever he did for this was solely his own business, and she would not share in that.

Ratnakara thus realised that the sins he had been accumulating all these years would be laid solely to his account, and so he started the most severe penance to atone for his sins. He sat in one posture for so long in meditation that the ants built an anthill around him. Eventually, a divine force revived him and returned him to normal life, and then he wrote the original Ramayana. His name, Valmiki, is derived from the word for 'anthill' .

Varsha, it is interesting that you mention the Ramayana forum. I have not been there, but I enjoy the Ramayana thoroughly. They have got the key factor right - to wit the casting of Lord Rama, who has the regal bearing and the detached air of nobility that is so essential for God made man, and of Lakshmana, who is all unquestioning devotion and obedience to his elder brother, and a simmering readiness to take on the whole world in his defence. These two are so perfect that they more than make up for any failings in the other characters, the set design or costumes and the like. Sita is all right, and the glances exchanged between her and Lord Rama are far more romantic than anything in PR or any other serial. I think this Ramayana is going to be great.

Reverting to our great villains-turned-into-saints, compared to these three, Soham/Vishnu is small potatoes, and he can surely be redeemed. but I wonder where the life-changing event is going to come from. And I too hope he does not become a derivative of either Archana or Manav.

As of today, we were treated to the unusual spectacle of Teju, Ovi and Arjun all of the same mind wrt Vishnu, and when Purvi was dishing out her usual sermon about her Soham Dada to Arjun, he was looking at her strangely. Maybe it is wishful thinking, but I hope he sticks to his guns on this issue, and continues to make common cause with Teju and Ovi.

There is a huge hole in the exculpations for Vishnu offered by both Archana and Purvi. I can accept the bad upbringing argument up to a point, though our Varsha has, correctly, punched a large hole in that by extending it to Sulochana's parvarish of Varsha/Jhumri.

What I cannot accept is the other explanation that since Vishnu did not know he was trying to kidnap his father, or that he ended up kidnapping his 'sister', he was not really at fault. This implies that it was all right for him to kidnap non-family members! If I had been Arjun or Teju, I would have raised this point at once, and then Purvi/Archana would probably have retreated to the bad parvarish argument.

I liked Teju's forthright statements, but she is on a losing wicket, and Purvi the Mahaan will score handily over her and Ovi.

In the precap, what I could not understand is how, and why, Manav and Archana chose the police station for their face to face encounter with Vishnu. which, in other respects, seems to be proceeding exactly as I had predicted, to the patent delight of Balan.

Finally, I hope all your sweets come out perfectly. There are splendid supplements in the papers here about all the different regional customs for Navaratri, and of course about all the different sweets. Mouth watering, just to look at them!

umi , kalapi , varsha ...take care of ur health dearsπŸ€— and get well soon .

anupama , nirvan and the member who is a silent reader and whose name is dicey to remember πŸ˜† thanks a lot .

Anyone i missed thanks a lot .

shyamala ...very informative post . I go to a south indian friend for navratri and she does exactly what u have described . She arranges clay dolls on a kolu and gives sundal as the prasad with other items .

I attend the Bengali clubs and see their pujos . How they feed butter to the Devi and her lion on Dussehra or how they do Kali pooja ...their pooja delicacies fascinate me .

I observe the enthusiasm of the Gujrathis on the nine days while doing Dandiya which has now become a multi cultural event from a regional spiritual dance .

Observing different cultures fascinates me shymala . I try to find the commonality in all cultures ...it is my passion . I see so many commonalities .

Maharashtrians too celebrate the Navratri with a lot of devotion . During Navratri the prasad of Puran is a must at least once for the Devi . Puran is the Devi's naivedyam . So the preparation of puran poli or puran karanjis [ gujiyas in the north] is a must .

Ashtami holds a special significance for them . They make the Devi's mask of steamed rice flour called ukad ...this is a real work of art as there should be no crack in the ukad once it dries up . The whole night women stay awake and some specially blessed women blow the ghagaris [ brass or steel pots of water] in an highly meditative state .

I have started the sweet preparations . 😊

About Soham .

I read your post about him and your mention of the moral compass set me thinking as i agree to it . Btw it is similiar to what Purvi said though we both know with what purpose the CVs put that dialogue in her mouth .

Your observation brought two characters of the scripturres in my mind ...Ajamila from the Bhagwatam and Angulimala from the buddhist literature .

Ajamila was a brahmin but he slipped morally of his own free will when he married a prostitute for physical pleasure . He became so besotted by her that he left his wife , parents and hadeight children by her and did neech karma not befitting a brahmin to fulfil her avaricious demands .

But he got realisation on his death bed due to a vision ...he had called out to his eighth child whom he had fondly named Narayana. He saw that the servants of Yama were asked to go back by the servants of Narayana .

Realising that he had got a second chance due to a higher purpose he gave up everything and spent his remainder of life meditating on the banks of a holy river .

In short he returned to his roots .

Same with Angulimala . Son of a brahmin, unfairly accused ,he became such a vicious robber that he cut the fingers of his victims and wore a garland of them and hence got the name . But he transformed when he met the Buddha and he became a monk and did not lift a finger even in self defence when the same people stoned him in anger .

The transformation of Ratnakar into Valya to Rishi Valmiki is well known .

All these great men went back to their roots .

I feel this ...

Circumstances do influence us . The atmosphere in which u were brought up , the company u kept etc does matter a lot . It does not change what you really are but it does shape your character by blurring it briefly . Till a life transforming event takes place . Even then , life long habits cannot be changed suddenly . But they are not impossible either .

Soham and Teju have inherited this fighting spirit from Savita . The family tree is an amazing thing . Their parents are anything but fighters but their grandmother had this fighting spirit . If Teju's circumstances shaped them in another way [ she loved karate and matches etc] Soham's were channelised into street brawls and physical fights according to the circumstances he got .

You mentioned about snarling . Well , this is exactly the way Savita went snarling when she was in a fight .

Ovi has taken the obstinacy of being a one man woman from her mother Archana . Archana had the same obstinate obsession with Manav and she refused Satish , Jaywant all other men . It was only Manav she wanted .

A child who grows up seeing robberies as a way of life ...feels that way only ...that robberies etc r a way of life .

The moral compass flickers when life changing events are encountered .

One does ultimately come back to his roots ...there is no running away from them . It is only a matter of time . When , is the question .

I agree with Kalapi who said death is so ultimate . To refuse giving blood at this point is in my opinion not right .

I agree with Varsha who said that she is ultimately only 19 . One is so judgemental and definitive then .

I agree with you that there is a moral compass in each of us .

All i hope is he never becomes a second Archana or Manav .

Infact what Soham is today is only and only bcoz of the Karanjkar family .

It was a Karanjkar who insisted her mental sister was cured and decided to prove it to the world by putting her defenceless baby at risk .

It was a Karanjkar who kidnapped him .

These 2 Karanjkar namoonas were given birth to by the patron Karanjkar ..Sulo .

It is the same Karanjkar Manav hastens to phone instead of his mother . He loves the Karanjkars although they have destroyed his child .

Kools,

I could not agree with you more, and I have written about this ad nauseum already, so I will desist now! He has zero self-respect, the boy, and it is pathetic;.

One more thing .

Arjun is , pardon me , stupid . He clearly said today that he does not care so much about the bullets he took but about what Soham did to Purvi .

Purvi meanwhile shut him up .

This show is one big story of Arjun's insults by Purvi and how she gives him zero respect and bhaav and shuts him up ...and this is a love story ? Since when did utter stupidity and being taken for granted become the feeling of 'love' ?

shyamala the life changing event for Soham is knowing his real family .

The sadhu Valmiki met was Narad .

The anthill around him gave this name . Valmiki in sanskrit means that .

The Ramayana was composed by him in poetic verse and the first verse spouted out instinctively from his mouth when he observed two krouncha birds who were mating killed by an insensitive arrow of a hunter .

Seeing their death when they were blissfully happy during mating grieved him ...i believe he was making the customary oblations in the water then .

Varsha even maharashtrians celebrate exactly the days u mentioned ...Ashtami , Shitala Saptami .

I simply don't like how Sulo is shown as a devi . I hope Manju rubs Balan and Varsha in her chubby face .

Did u guys see how Archu clung to her mummy . And Manav is regarded as a mama's boy although he doesn't even look at his mom .

Is strenght identified as turning back on mother but jumping at wifi's whims and praising her mom .

Thanks Kools and Shyamala for excellent posts..
What right did Purvi have in interupting a convo between DK & Arjun about Soham? Is she Arjun's wife to go give him lecture on how she does not like to hear bad stuff abt her Soham Dada...Does Arjun or DK give a S*** abt Soham the gunda??? So as he is ArMan's son he is pardonable but if he was some random dude than he should be hung.
Why were all these family there in the hospital? Why Savita, Damo & Vandu last ones to enter...Even DK was there b4 them...ICU or CICU family or relatives are not allowed at all..Only spouse or a child can be in the room 5 min every half hour...Rest of the time they need to be out in the waiting room not outside of the ICU..Dude Soham just had the surgery related to heart why was he not on any sort a machine or on IVY-Blood ETC 😲 Him using his right hand to throw things looking at ArMan was hillarious.
It was sad to see all comforting Archana including Mommy dearest Sanskar ki devi Queen B Sulo...Teju observing how they all comforting beautiful Archana aai but no one next to Manav until Savita came but he did not even care abt her.
Ovi-Teju-Arjun's take on Soham is very normal and logical..Purvi's argument is lame...Its OK as long as he is her Soham Dada but if he was random guy he should be in Jail...Wow what a logic? WHo is she to impose her opinion on him? Ovi can talk to him abt that if there was a reason but she and Arjun along with Teju are on the same page..
I do not want Savita to be involved in this mess...She should remain firm as her own son Manav has disowned her...Let him be chummy with his JPBP MIL Sulo..I know I have alot more to write but this is all I can think right now...
Manav and now Arjun are the most weak characters of PR...Manav has brought all this on to himself, his marriage and to his family by allowing lopsided relationships by Archana with her Mayka Karanjkars. If I were Archana's mother i would be constantly concerned for my over crossing the boundries by getting involved in married daughter's life. 😳
Thanks Kools and Shyamala for sharing more on Valmiki.
I love Gagan Malik as Lord Rama such a soumya cewl personality. Love Neil Bhatt as Laxman...Neha Sargan has not grown on moi yet but she is multi talented girl..The soft exchange of looks between Lord Rama and Sita has so much love and romance one can feel..I am enjoying Ramayan so much...I would like both of u to post there so I can atleast read and enjoy...There are hardcore fans there..
SHyamala do try seeing Devon ke dev Mahadev...I found extremely strong chemistry between Lord Shiva and Parvati in past episodes...I dont watch it normally but had caught some omnibus few wknds back and was impressed...The actor who plays Lord Shiva is just WOW πŸ˜ƒ
I also like Sage Vishwamitra who ever the actor is playing the role..

Man, I watch PR on occasion and for Rithvik, whom I saw in JDJ❀️

As usual, you commentary is daasu..

I am watching the part where Purvi is saying " when soham made the plan to kidnap Me, he didnt know I was Manav's daughter"🀣 🀣 🀣

What drugs does Purvi smoke, comparing Manav's accident to Soham's planned kidnapping?

And, would she be okay with Arjun's contempt if it was another kidnapper who kidnapped her or anyone?

like what.the.f**k

I dont completely agree with Arjun, but it is hard to feel any sympathy for a man who attempted to kill you and kidnap your then lover.

Purvi is a JOKE
