umi it means only one thing
Archu believes that Sulo is a devi and that her words come true .Devi Sulo has only installed this in Archu's head .I completely agreed with Manju ...though i wish she had said that Sulo is the one who gave birth to 4 big namoonas and is the biggest namoona herself .

guys thanks for commenting
umi , kalapi , varsha ...take care of ur health dearsπ€ and get well soon .anupama , nirvan and the member who is a silent reader and whose name is dicey to remember π thanks a lot .Anyone i missed thanks a lot .shyamala ...very informative post . I go to a south indian friend for navratri and she does exactly what u have described . She arranges clay dolls on a kolu and gives sundal as the prasad with other items .I attend the Bengali clubs and see their pujos . How they feed butter to the Devi and her lion on Dussehra or how they do Kali pooja ...their pooja delicacies fascinate me .I observe the enthusiasm of the Gujrathis on the nine days while doing Dandiya which has now become a multi cultural event from a regional spiritual dance .Observing different cultures fascinates me shymala . I try to find the commonality in all cultures ...it is my passion . I see so many commonalities .Maharashtrians too celebrate the Navratri with a lot of devotion . During Navratri the prasad of Puran is a must at least once for the Devi . Puran is the Devi's naivedyam . So the preparation of puran poli or puran karanjis [ gujiyas in the north] is a must .Ashtami holds a special significance for them . They make the Devi's mask of steamed rice flour called ukad ...this is a real work of art as there should be no crack in the ukad once it dries up . The whole night women stay awake and some specially blessed women blow the ghagaris [ brass or steel pots of water] in an highly meditative state .I have started the sweet preparations . πAbout Soham .I read your post about him and your mention of the moral compass set me thinking as i agree to it . Btw it is similiar to what Purvi said though we both know with what purpose the CVs put that dialogue in her mouth .Your observation brought two characters of the scripturres in my mind ...Ajamila from the Bhagwatam and Angulimala from the buddhist literature .Ajamila was a brahmin but he slipped morally of his own free will when he married a prostitute for physical pleasure . He became so besotted by her that he left his wife , parents and hadeight children by her and did neech karma not befitting a brahmin to fulfil her avaricious demands .But he got realisation on his death bed due to a vision ...he had called out to his eighth child whom he had fondly named Narayana. He saw that the servants of Yama were asked to go back by the servants of Narayana .Realising that he had got a second chance due to a higher purpose he gave up everything and spent his remainder of life meditating on the banks of a holy river .In short he returned to his roots .Same with Angulimala . Son of a brahmin, unfairly accused ,he became such a vicious robber that he cut the fingers of his victims and wore a garland of them and hence got the name . But he transformed when he met the Buddha and he became a monk and did not lift a finger even in self defence when the same people stoned him in anger .The transformation of Ratnakar into Valya to Rishi Valmiki is well known .All these great men went back to their roots .I feel this ...Circumstances do influence us . The atmosphere in which u were brought up , the company u kept etc does matter a lot . It does not change what you really are but it does shape your character by blurring it briefly . Till a life transforming event takes place . Even then , life long habits cannot be changed suddenly . But they are not impossible either .Soham and Teju have inherited this fighting spirit from Savita . The family tree is an amazing thing . Their parents are anything but fighters but their grandmother had this fighting spirit . If Teju's circumstances shaped them in another way [ she loved karate and matches etc] Soham's were channelised into street brawls and physical fights according to the circumstances he got .You mentioned about snarling . Well , this is exactly the way Savita went snarling when she was in a fight .Ovi has taken the obstinacy of being a one man woman from her mother Archana . Archana had the same obstinate obsession with Manav and she refused Satish , Jaywant all other men . It was only Manav she wanted .A child who grows up seeing robberies as a way of life ...feels that way only ...that robberies etc r a way of life .The moral compass flickers when life changing events are encountered .One does ultimately come back to his roots ...there is no running away from them . It is only a matter of time . When , is the question .I agree with Kalapi who said death is so ultimate . To refuse giving blood at this point is in my opinion not right .I agree with Varsha who said that she is ultimately only 19 . One is so judgemental and definitive then .I agree with you that there is a moral compass in each of us .All i hope is he never becomes a second Archana or Manav .

One more thing .
Arjun is , pardon me , stupid . He clearly said today that he does not care so much about the bullets he took but about what Soham did to Purvi .Purvi meanwhile shut him up .This show is one big story of Arjun's insults by Purvi and how she gives him zero respect and bhaav and shuts him up ...and this is a love story ? Since when did utter stupidity and being taken for granted become the feeling of 'love' ?
