Chapter 48: Heartache Part 2
October 14th, 2012: Kirloksar Residence, 11:30 p.m.
*in Arvi's room*
Purvi: *crying*
Arjun: *slowly puts his arm around her* Purvi…
Purvi: A—Arjun *buries her face in Arjun's chest and continues crying*
Arjun: Purvi…. Shhh. It's okay—
Purvi: *through tears* Arjun, A—aai ne Ku—Kunjal ko bolne bhi n—nahin di au—aur
Arjun: I know, it's okay. Shhh.
Purvi: Aa-aur Ku—Kunjal ki k—koi galti b—bhi nahin th—thi
Arjun: *slowly pulls Purvi off of him* Look, whatever happened will fix itself with time. *wipes her tears* You know it's not her fault. I know it's not her fault. We'll find a way through this.
Purvi: B—but
Arjun: Hey hey hey, don't cry. Purvi, do you trust me enough to believe that what I'm saying is true?
Purvi: Ha— *nods*
Arjun: So smile for me?
Purvi: ….
Arjun: Smile….
Purvi: *slowly smiles*
Arjun: A little forced, but I'll take it.
Purvi: *rests her head on his shoulder* Will it really be okay?
Arjun: Yes, and that's my promise to you.
*in the guestroom*
Kunjal is sitting on the floor with her head leaning against the dresser. Riya is silently sitting next to her for moral support. Kunjal is crying slowly and silently. It's not before long that she ends up falling asleep, though she still is crying. Riya doesn't say or do anything, but she still sits there, next to her.
Nikhil: *slowly comes into the room and sits next to Riya and whispers* Why don't you go to sleep?
Riya: I don't feel like it.
Nikhil: Why are you stressing yourself out over this stuff right now?
Riya: Look, it might not make sense to you, but I blindly trust my brother. If he knows that whatever happened today wasn't right, then I'm no one to argue.
Nikhil: I believe him too, but don't you think that it's a bit much to lose sleep over?
Riya: No. Not at all. At this point everyone's mood is messed up.
Nikhil: Okay… well all I want is for what's right to be the stronger hand in the end.
Riya: Me too.
Nikhil: I'll go now. You need anything?
Riya: *shakes her head*
Nikhil: Night. *gets up to leave*
Riya: Night.

Archana: Mein kuch nahin sun na chahti hoon Manav!
Manav: Archana, try and understand. Everyone know that it happened, so then why are you—
Archana: Nothing happened okay!? Nothing happened today!
Savita: Archu beta, calm down.
Archana: Aai, mein kaisi shant rahoon? I saw my son's life fall to the ground in front of me.
Teju: Lekin Aai, it happened. It doesn't matter whether or not you wanted it to happen that way, but it did.
Manav: Exactly Archana, kyun apni aap ko zyaada pareshaan kar rahi ho?
Soham: Kyun? Jab voh sab kuch bhulne ki koshish har rahi hai, toh phir kyun rok rahe ho?
Manav: Beta, hum yeh nahin maan sakte hai, ke aaj teri shaadi nahi huyi Kunjal se.
Archana: Kyun nahin? It didn't happen.
Savita: Archana, please.
Sachin: Aai, it happened. But right now we need to calm down and just wait it out to see what we need to do.
Trisha: Haan.
Archana: But why do we need to!? That's what I'm saying! Nothing happened today!
Teju: Aai, stop it! Now you're just being delusional! Stop acting like you're the only one that cares about Soham! We all understand that what happened today was horrible, but we can't just shut off our minds and pretend it didn't happen.
Manav: Haan, Archana.
Archana: Achcha?
Soham: *gets up and leaves*
Archana: Soham! Mein apni aap ke liye yeh sab nahin kar rahi hoon. I'm doing it for my broken son. Jab aap log constantly yeh sab ki naam lete ho na, he hurts.
Manav: But pretending that it never happened isn't the way to solve it either! He has to accept it that Kunjal is his wife whether or not he likes it!
Archana: Mein aakhri baar bol rahi hoon. Aaj kuch nahin hua. *leaves as well*
Sachin: That's just great. Aai is delusional and thinks Soham didn't get married today, Soham isn't talking, and now I'm just plain out confused.
Savita: We'll think this stuff over later. It's really late, ab mein son eke liye jaa rahi hoon.
Manav: Haan Aai, aap jao.
Teju: *takes a deep breath*
*awkward silence*
Trisha: I'll go check on Soham. *walks off*
Manav: Be careful.
Everyone spent the next while pondering how they were possible going to make things sane. No one was able to make anything of the situation, and all were distressed.

Ranvir: *laughs* That was fun. *keeps laughing* Bohot mazaa aaya. Jhanvi darling, could you bring me some water?
Jhanvi: Fine… Lekin sach mein, was it necessary to mess things up right this second?
Ranvir: Jhanvi, tum nahin samjhegi. Everything fell into place. I ruined Kunjal's life, Purvi or Arjun couldn't say anything, and the best part is, Kunjal left out the part where it wasn't her fault. Knowing her, she probably won't say it either…
Jhanvi: Lekin voh log ko pata chal jaaye ke teri galti hi the, and not Kunjal's, toh phi kya?
Ranvir: Jhanvi, that won't ever happen. I'm confident about it. Even Kunjal's parents were distraught with her.
Jhanvi: I hope so… Tumko pata hai ke mein aapki bina nahin reh sakti hoon.
Ranvir: Haan, Jhanvi. Mujhe pata hain…

*in Teju's room*
Teju: Dada, something's not right.
Sachin: Everything's not right, Teju. Were you not here today or what?
Teju: No, I mean seriously, something's not right. When Ra—that guy came in today, Purvi and Arjun both tried stopping him from talking.
Sachin: Haan, toh?
Teju: That means that they knew all along.
Sachin: Well yeah, Tej. I mean, why are you pointing out the obvious?
Teju: Lekin Dada, when Kunjal intervened, Purvi looked more confused than hurt.
Sachin: *slowly sits up* Right…
Teju: I have this gut feeling that something's missing from the story. I'm almost positive that if whatever happened today was 100% true, then neither Arjun nor Purvi would've tried to protect Kunjal.
Sachin: Teju… I think you're right.
Trisha: *walks in and sits down next to Teju* Tej, Soham's practically broken.
Teju: I know. He really loved Kunjal, and this was a shock to him. But… I think there's something missing.
Trisha: Matlab?
Sachin: Meaning, *exaplains everything they discovered*
Trisha: Oh wow! That's so true! I really think something's missing from the story too.
Teju: Something's missing, and I want to know what it is.
Trisha: Right… leking Miss Sherlock Holmes Jr., what are we going to do? Nothing in your family's right mind would get them to think the other way!
Sachin: Voh bhi sahi hai…
Teju: Actually, Aai is a sucker when it comes to Purvi. She might not have understood it earlier while she was mad, but if we can come up with a way to get the right thing out, then I'm almost positive Purvi's going to comply.
Trisha: Teju! I swear you're really clever!
Teju: It kind of runs in the family… people just apply their intelligence selectively.
Sachin: Okay, well if we're going to get Purvi hyped up, we need a solid plan.
Teju: Dada, your little sister's on a roll here. I think I got this… just wait and watch…
*****
Precap: Teju and Trisha go to the Kirloskar Residence…
Arjun is desperately trying to calm Purvi down, and it worked somewhat.😳 Riya tried the same with Kunjal to no avail. Soham and Archana both deny the marriage ever happened, but everyone else sadly acknowledge the fact that it happened. Leave it to Trisha and Teju to think that something is fishy. 😲
